The way he responds to the tweet makes me think he won’t be abandoning any of the current properties lined up for this year in favor of trying to get a WB one. Anything can happen. But I find it unlikely

I dunno, I'm suddenly very interested in what Murdy said about having to make a pitch without any prep-time. A huge fan of someone growing up...only one that fits with is Stephen King, and I'm not sure if they'd start out with IT for a Warner IP.

But I feel like it's not in HHN's interest to wait another year. For one, if it's true that HHN is having issues with securing popular IPs, it doesn't make sense to let an opportunity like WB opening up to just slip by. I know it's unlikely that WB will suddenly go to Knox or something, but I doubt that corporate likes the idea of leaving food on the table when that risk, no matter how small, still exists.

I sure as hell hope so. I'd prefer IT, the timing would be especially great with Chapter 2 coming out, but The Conjuring would definitely awesome as well.
Thank God we've opened back up the possibilities of WB properties, that strong hold on them was brutal and ultimately not worth it. Imagine last year if we didn't have First Purge and had IT or Conjuring instead? Would've been a much better year instantly.
Also would love to see Uni take a crack at Arkham Asylum, something that actually looks like the game. Just dance on that grave, Murdy!!!

Uh, strongly disagree. I’m more than thankful Conjuring or It didn’t happen in the last two years. Why? Just look what they did to The Shinning and Trick r Treat. Budget cuts galore. I want them to wait until they have the actual resources to do them right.

True, although Conjuring might be easier since they already have the R&D complete. I’m curious about far Hollywood got on it, as if they already ordered set pieces back in 2017 it would be a cheap maze to make now. Plus Conjuring could easily reuse scenic from Murder House or The Girl

I loved Shining and TrT, fav mazes of both of those years, but maybe that's just me haha
HHN isn't ever going to be like 2006-2010 ever again. Or 2016 which was an exception, not the rule at the time. We started noticing those blank walls go up even way back in 2011. It's sadly the new normal.
Either you get it the way HHN operates or you never get it. Or you get another event to do it in a piss poor way. I'd rather have HHN style, me thinks.
There's been more blank wall years now than full fledged quality years.
If I just sit back and wish for the good old days every year, you'll just disappoint yourself every time. At this point, just make it wishful thinking and if it does happen, then it's a great bonus.

Never going to happen. The ONLY park that would ever see an Arkham Asylum maze is Six Flags. Think about it... they already tested the waters with the Suicide Squad photo-op. Wouldn't be surprised if Six Flags got a DC themed maze at some point in the future. But Universal never will.

And the maze at WB's looked just fine.

Now granted it is outlines which means there are more than 6 outlines. And only 5 maze treatments done. So yes there will be more than 6 mazes.

I don't really want to make a big fuss about it but couldn't number 7 refer to "completing" maze 6? Like, he doesn't specifically say he "finished" maze 7, and in the tweet he only talks about starting research on maze 6...

Now, granted, it's possible that he's just being coy, and maybe he even just wrote a ton of different scripts because there hasn't really been a clean slate locked down until now (that mystery pitch is still scratching in my brain), so he kept writing outlines just in case, and he does have 7 scripts written. But it's still interesting to think about an event with only 6 mazes and a gauntlet, kinda like in 2016.

Look he said he finished 7 outlines (Possibly even more) and I don't know how a Outline of Maze 6 would take him a month to finish. I don't see exactly why they would shorten down to 6 mazes after doing 7 for the past few years. And all the locations that people have worried about us losing (SS29, Mummy, Parisian) are all confirmed for this year. So there should be more than 6 mazes.

To add to the argument of did maze count increase or decrease, John has also said that the total count is “classified”

Now there are two sides to that coin. The bad side: the count could potentially have decreased and he wants to keep it secret so people don’t get upset about losing a maze like they did from 2014 to 2015 with the loss of the House of Horrors overlay maze (not that much of a loss if you ask me).
OR
The maze count could have increased (which I find more likely) and they want to keep it secret for a while until marketing kicks into full gear over the summer and advertise this year as “more mazes than ever” yet again like 2017.

So about the female pop star that shares in common with two punk bands clue Murdy posted on his twitter, have we already figured it out? If not what are we thinking?

Well until now it seems most of us were thinking it was, as John said, an extended April fool’s day prank. However I think the prank may be that we all thought it was a prank and didn’t care about it and it turns out to be a real clue :bonk:
