Except that *apparently* what they did. They were too lazy to implement a wristband system (Which should’ve been the way to go). I guess it was better to intimidate and bully people into the spare tram.

ahhh got it

I was asking around about it and most people who went last year said there was no special system...so assumed this year was the same

I hope next year they can do better at making it where its first come first serve and are more fourth coming on what the system is....maybe John can tweet it out the day of

Bringing in the cops feels so disgustingly wrong honestly. Feels remisicent of a certain hellish aspect of reality that the parks are supposed to provide a reprieve of.

Boy, I'm sure glad you all liked it so much. Aside from the talent of the scareactors, and the roaming Art, it was a very "meh" year for me.

Didn't care for FNAF, not very scary (and I don't care for the property)
Wyatt felt like HOTC/TCM repeat, and Scarecrow and Poltergeist were repeats, and Monstruos was a glorified repeat
Jason was fine, but nothing new--felt like a repeat
Fallout was okay, not great
Terrifier was fine as a house, but really hate the property
There's no real innovation in scares, it's all just boo box after boo box
Costs are way too high, and you basically can't see everything unless you get EE or Express
Scarezones all felt like repeats, nothing new there (aside from the talent of the performers, which saves it)

Terror Tram was the closest to a highlight for me, which isn't saying much. And aside from Poltergeist, not many black hallways, so I guess that's a plus Oh, and still not a lot of shows (except for repeat Purge)

Guess this is where I come in and say, apparently, the event GSATs were among the highest ever.

Out of curiosity, how did Chainsaw Man favor in GSATS? Heard there was a bit of a hold-up with that one when it comes down to the language barrier in comparison to how Jujitsu Kaisen was for FFN.

Personally, I thought it was a great year.

Poltergeist was the weakest link IMO, but it was still a good experience, it just paled in comparison to other mazes. Even though I have no affinity with the FNAF IP, I still really liked the experience - I don't get scared at all in any maze, so it's more enjoying the show for me. With the huge success of FNAF and Terrifier, they will have a dilemma about repeats in 2026, though I guess they could change them up enough to constitute new experiences.

Purge is a great show, but it could do with a change-up rather than repeating every year, as long as they don't throw Jabberwokeez in there, unless they drown them at the beginning lol. Chainsaw Man didn't hit for me at all, I had no context on this one and just wasn't into it at all. I'd love to see a Late Night with the Devil show, I guess surveys will decide if anime is back. I imagine any opportunity to sit down in air conditioning, especially when it was really hot in Sept is nice lol.

I guess we'll see, given the demand this year, if they expand the footprint of the event. The Hellraiser rumor was a good start, bring on spec season.

I'd probably say if Anime's back on the table, that I wonder if Universal will try to do a dub for the sake of HHN. If for the GP, to help localize and give contextual elements that makes more logistical sense.

The theater can't handle a actor show, and the work that it'd take for making it work would be money that could be better spent elsewhere.

Anything is possible, but it would surprise me to see them pay to do this for a seasonal event. If a dub already exists? Great, I'm sure they'd use it. But it's not a matter of, "are there fans who would appreciate this?" I think it's a matter of, "are we turning off the fans we're trying to attract by not getting a dub done?" And I think the answer to that is largely, "no."

Of course, I have no insider info and could be wrong! But I think Universal's priority with this show is:
  • Create extra capacity
  • Spend as little money to do so as possible by reusing existing assets
  • Do those things in a way that continue to diversify the guest mix at their seasonal events
Now, if they were looking to add one of these shows to the park full time? That's a different kettle of fish.

Well, they didn't ask me, haha

I do realize I'm likely in the minority here. But I'm also surprised that this forum, which is typically so critical about the semi-mandatory EE to get all mazes done, outrageous costs, insanely long lines, having repeats/reusing props, and overuse of boo boxes just seem to overlook all that because it's properties people like. Like the properties or not, but those issues were just as bad as ever this year, IMO.

But I do agree, scareactors are on point, production values/less black walls have greatly improved (I would certainly hope that was a part of the high GSATS, even I would have to agree there), and having a roaming Art helped a lot. All else... meh.

I'd be okay with the show being a repeat with just that one addition if it means other show elements elsewhere can get more invested into them. On paper it sounds like a cost effective way to sort of shake up a repeat.

As I was saying in the FFN thread, I hope enough people complained that it was hard to keep up with the subs and what was happening on screen. I feel like this show footage suffered from that a lot at the beginning of the main thing, since the characters and initial action are at the bottom of the screen but the subs are at the very top. So yes, I'd say they might eventually drive away a portion of people who'd otherwise check out the attraction if they keep doing that.

I'm bummed I didn't seem to get an HHN survey the day after my visit, had I known that was gonna happen, I would have at least let guest services know before I left. Kinda bugs me to think that other people who might have voiced the same thing were probably unable to for the same reasons. I wonder what would be the next best thing, cause I feel it'd be awkward to go tell guest services about something that has already concluded for the year.

I was a humongous hater of the properties coming to the event this year but I had a lot of fun. I don't think it's in the top three years for me, but I wouldn't argue against Top 5.

Will shout out Jason Universe as an incredible maze. It was better than the Orlando iteration for the same reason the Hollywood KKFOS was better: it was much better at creating memorable individual moments, even if the Orlando version was technically scarier.

Stuff like the head rip, the counselor trapped in the car, and the bow and arrow felt like welcome bursts of innovation, especially next to the slightly recycled-feeling Terrifier maze.

It’s well-deserved IMO. Honestly if it wasn’t a repeat it probably would be my favorite.

At the same time, it kinda sucks because this will embolden them to double down on repeats.

Have heard Terrifier, like Orlando.

Hopefully Murdy corrects us both, and it's secretly Monstruos or Wyatt Sicks.
