The scarecrow one is just speculation. We don't know even what's going on there. The Poltergeist stuff though, that seems like a lock in. I don't mind Poltergeist coming back but it's a little confusing to me. It's just a very random IP to bring back. I would've brought back Creepshow or UM: Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man before Poltergeist. But it seemed like a fun house at least. I just wonder how much they'll improve on it if at all. The black walls in that house looked very excessive from the POVs I've seen lol

There's no way it isn't Scarecrow at this point though. The facade and the part of the layout that we can see lines up with 2022's exactly.

Sooooo... the horror spoof of Steamboat Willie "Screamboat" starring Terrifier's David Howard Thorton. Their official movie insta page asked where we'd like to see the movie end up next.

So I jokingly commented with "Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Hollywood" & tagged both HHN/USH lol..

Best part. The Screamboat page liked my comment! Lol.. Imagine if it came to HHN

Of course would never happen for Disney-related reasons, but it would be fun. And then, could build to the inevitable David Howard Thornton faceoff house of Art the Clown vs. Steamboat Willie

Public domain. It's fair game. Plus it's an independent IP film that'll probably end up on Shudder. So it would be possible.

I agree that Horror Nights clears enough money that it shouldn’t ever need to repeat properties in back to back years. But my larger frustrations with late stage capitalism aside, I find a couple of repeats don’t materially change how much fun I have at the event.

For how, Horror Nights is still my favorite thing I do every year and I find it’s worth the high price I pay. Your mileage may vary, of course, but at this point I’m not focusing too much on the lineup as a bar for how much fun I’m going to have.

I feel the exact same way. HHN is always good, even during the "down years," or whatever you wanna call them. Everyone complaining now will be plotting rope drop strategies in just a few months. I also can't ignore the irony of people complaining about HHN repeats while happily attending KSF, an event that is virtually identical year over year.

This would really be scraping the bottom of the barrel. Like, this would go through the bottom of the barrel into some new, previously unexplored regions of cringe. No chance.

I liked Screamboat and thought it was easily the best public domain slasher so far, so I wouldn't be opposed. And I appreciate they could technically do it, if they were very careful to stay on the public domain side of the line. But doing so would be such a direct shot at Disney, and court so much controversy, that I still think it's very unlikely. Universal may be more rebellious than Disney, but it feels like a pretty intense shot to fire for a big corporation that is inevitably somewhat risk averse.

Have you seen our barrel? Our barrel goes for music based houses & now apparently Terrifier. And our barrel is so far at the bottom they've had to dust off & repeat houses.

....and we need a little unexplored cringe. Afterall, we did have "This is the End 3D"

....wuh? Music-based houses have been around for a long time, and Terrifier is a massive, hugely popular hit -- AKA, exactly the sort of property that should be coming to HHN. I personally don't like the movies at all, but as an IP, it's nowhere near the bottom of the barrel -- it's among the cream of the crop in 2025. Look, nobody likes repeats, but I agree with what others are saying: this convo is really spiraling lol.

Also, an IG account liking your comment that the movie it's promoting should go to HHN is not a sign of anything other than than the IG account would obviously like it if the movie it's promoting went to HHN. Don't read too much into a social media community manager doing their job by liking a post.

There's nothing to read into. I was simply pointing out that the film liked it. Never said it meant it was happening. Sheesh.

Tred to distract the current downward spiral with something more entertaining.. *sigh*

Someone with more knowledge about this then me will hopefully answer.

Let’s say Screamboat happened, Universal does it for the lolz just to taunt the mouse next door. Hilarious btw. If they were merch with Mickey Mouse on it from the film wouldn’t it be violating rights laws?
Doesn’t Disney still own the rights to “Steamboat Mickey” when it comes to any purchasable physical asset whether that be a toy or a shirt?

None of the other tents seem to be having this setup, and from what it seems there are very few examples of where Universal goes this intently on air conditioning for the tents.

Needless to say, this house is going to be *cold*.

Bringing both points here to bring something up.

If FNAF was being designed for Soundstage 15 in mind for HHN last year; and when things happened and Weeknd took it's place--then that still means FNAF was being designed and/written for that venue in the beginning.

While ordinarily some would appropriately say "so what"; I would like to bring up that for the past two Puppet/Tech houses, neither of them have needed to have that of a advanced cooling system into place. It also doesn't exactly make sense in terms of the scenario that FNAF would need to be a tent house that'd require AC.

I think if we're looking at options, FNAF is in SS15; Fallout (if it's happening) is in UBE, and whatever is in this house at H-Lot North is being made to be cold in mind. tbh if it wasn't for the slate looking like it was, I'd almost wonder if it could be Nosferatu.

If we’re seriously talking Nosferatu, sounds like it replaced WWE. I’m hesitant to jump into the Nosferatu train since none of the insiders seem to be saying anything about it.

But hey if it happens, I’m going to expect a VERY similar vibe to Crimson Peak. If there would be a year to do it, this would be it since UM is likely taking a break this year.

The other option, and I don't know if there are photos; but I wonder if The Thing: Assimilation from 2011 had a similar setup to allow high AC/cooling to be prevalent throughout the house. But that's more speculative of me than I give myself credit.

IF and I mean IF FNAF isn’t happening, that is a big maybe. You have no idea how much I would LOVE The Thing, but FNAF is likely a bigger priority to do.

This also could have to do with some internal problems cast members were having as far as the September heat last year went.

If that was the case then wouldn’t we be seeing the AC measures being done for T-Pad & H-Lot South?
