What he had was potential, what Uni did was to ruin what could have been a great Icon.
Hopefully they get this years right and make it's presence felt through out the event .

I really don't want another creature/ Fear like Icon. Fear failed for me as an icon because he blended in with all of the other creatures I have seen on stilts over the past years, and like many have said the ones that scare the most are human icons because they're very realistic. Besides I thought the Caretaker was death.

I found FEAR quite creepy in the videos leading up to the event, even when I saw him face to face and he stared at me I thought he was pretty creepy, but then I looked around and heard screams coming from Jack, Usher and Director's area and realized that all that FEAR was was creepy..If they do death as an icon next year he needs his own house...and he needs his own show in Hollywood (The Universal Studios zone I mean) FEAR had no real connection to the event besides the one scare zone and his voice being around the park..They said he would be omnipresent around the event I figured that meant something like the year with Bloody Mary, having her in each one of the houses...I figured FEAR also would have a place in the Horror Nights Past house. I'll say what I said after the event..FEAR was a great character, but their are lots of characters at the event, it takes a little bit more to be an icon...

Fear was a HUGE disappointment....I didn't even see the guy, put it that way.

The Grim Reaper could be a cool Icon for next year, but only if they did it right, and had him present throughout the park and had a signature house. HOPEFULLY not in the Jaws queue.

I was thinking if they did something like the Grim Reaper as an icon, they would definaly need to tie up the Caretaker into this. Eather as an overlook icon or the one that is rumored to be lurking around inside the houses.

Also the Grim Reapers look (think about this), his big black hood drapes down into black smoke with creatures from Hell apperring out of it.

It's official, next HHN the icon is going to be Ke$ha because you can't get scarier than that and there is going to be a Jersey Shore house because that's pretty scary too. Fog machines...not gonna happen. We got glitter cannons.

Actually, according to Universal - None of the old icons before HHN 21 will ever return for at least along while (me estimating 6 - 12 years). So yes, those rumors are easly forgetable.
