Now I know Hollywood and Orlando have seperate events, but on Twitter/FB the HHN: Hollywood page released teases to this years houses already!

The code names for the houses are:

GV Black
Soap Opera
3DN
Bunny Gibbons

Those are some pretty vague clues :inquisitive:

Soap Opera - Something to do with theater???

3DN - "3D'n". A new 3d house since last year was a success in Hollywood.

Bunny Gibbons - No idea.

Soap Opera- I think this is kind of a red herring with out it being one. Think of horror/drama. Walking Dead, True Blood, or Supernatural.

3DN-3D Nightmare

Bunny Gibbons-Either a carnival or something to do with Ed Gein. Bunny Gibbons owned the Ed Gein car. SOURCE

Construction has "begun" for HHN 2011. From HHNRumors:

As the title suggests, construction has finally started for HHN 2011. Not much more is known at this point. Fake Productions is once again taking the lead for construction. Check out the permit here.

How about some more minor info on this year's event? This is what was said at that Designer's Forum last week (from JWFearman at HNN):

1.) I knew it was the case but T.J. specifically told me Universal and no I.O.A. Like I said I knew that but now you've heard it right from the man.

2.) David Sauls was talking about metrics and it sounded like we will get more buttons to press this year.

3.) Last year's stage at the forum was filled with past props. This year's was filled with portraits of classic Universal monsters including the Mummy, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Could this be a hint at this year's theme?

This (especially #3) should give us some additional topics to speculate over for a little bit. :thumbs: I personally am all for more classic monster houses. Frank, Drac, and Wolfman were all quality houses back in '09.

The problem with that just 2 years ago they did the whole "re-imagining" of Drac, Frank, and Wolfman. It would almost feel like a re-hash again.

Agreed, I wouldn't mind it ,if it only took up a house or two (and fit the year's theme) but I can't see a whole classic themed year going over too well. :shrug: It seems really odd for the pictures to be the only thing featured on stage this year though.

Possibly they still want the theme to be a surprise, and are giving out a fake hint with the monsters.

Classic Monsters? They did that 2 years ago! Maybe it might be something for a house but not anything related to the overall theme.

I personally wouldn't put too much thought into their use of the Classic Monsters for that event. It's probably the most generic element they could use, yet that's the root of Universal's place in horror history. Makes perfect sense for them to use these images as a way to set the stage while giving nothing away.

From the vibe of the forum the paintings had nothing to do with this years event, just to show off how amazing Kim Gromoll truly is and give the make-up session a nice backround without taking up too much space.

I really do not want a movie theme again. Universal does so much better with original concepts. it would be odd that with the entire new age of fear that was brought in last year they would go straight back to something done before. I do not see it happening.

I agree with you. Also I think in "A new era of Darkness", Universal will be trying some new things and not reverting back to old stuff (execpt in scareing & some other elements).

Also nothing on the build permit site but I think that we will see those build permits soon since this has been put out.

People no longer have true access to the building permits, They passed a law a few years ago I think they can put anything generic on them now.
