Oh, and no icon.

Funny HOS did that last year and everyone seemed to think it would be a bad idea. I enjoyed it but don't think it would work very well at HHNs
Six houses, one scarezones, DM, and construction walls sounds like a great (heavy sarcasm) time to me, if true.

Meh. These things happen. I still think the 7th house will come, we just need to be patient.

And the construction is necessary, there's nothing they can do about that.

Brian saw floats being pulled out of the Parade building today. Take that for what you will.

I'm doubting the no scarezones proper thing, they tried that in 2007, ended up having a pretty big backlash.

No icon is the most plausible.

Well, Scarezones in the front of the park won't be happening due to the parade, right? At least that seems to be the case. I hope they go all out with them at the back of the park.

As for the parade building, I dunno how that'll be used. They aren't going to leave their brand new parade floats out in the elements until November.

Teebin, is the reason you're interested in HHN this year because of the PROJECTORS that were used in Acid Assault last year? Are they being used for the testing in the Mummy for possible use in Gringotts?

Props can easily be wheeled out and if they keep the same locations as last year will only affect 2 zones. I don't think it was new parade floats that were being moved out of the building...maybe Mardi Gras floats or something.

My interest in HHN is completely personal and has nothing to do with the upcoming HHN or other UC projects at all. I have similar interests in each of the major haunts on the east coast. It is new-found.

Gotcha. With all that talk about projectors and such it just hit me that HHN is at the forefront of projector technology... on the sides of buildings lol!

Can you give us a hint as to where? I see an uproar even among the casual fans if there isn't a scarezone as you enter (by Shrek), but I imagine they expect one along Rodeo Drive as well.

After auditions July 17th we should be in full swing for updates. I remember last year when auditions were being held they officially released The Thing house and then the updates slowly started surfacing.

It also depends on what type of update schedule they want. Sometimes they update heavily up until late August and finish it off with a big reveal, other years (like last year) they update less frequently at first but continue to update up until September.

I had thought about the "rolling props" or sets in Hollywood and New York, but the question is, where would you store them during the day, and how difficult and time-consuming would this be to accomplish? You can't put things on the sidewalks because then there would be no room for people to watch the parade. Roaming scare actors could easily be accomplished however. I'm betting scare zones in places little or never used in the past.

I think they could easily be stored in one of the many breezeways across the resort and I don't think it'd be all that difficult to accomplish. It wouldn't be the easiest thing in the world but I think a team of 20 techs could easily set up a scarezone in the hour or so allotted to them.

Granted we may not see overturned cars or anything like that anymore in zones, but I remember a couple of years ago they inflated a roof for Containment pretty quickly each night for the event, who is to say they can't roll out some cars for the same thing this year?

I suspect if we DO get zones they'll be contained down side streets, Shrek Alley, once they clean up after demo, Sting Alley, International Bazaar, and possibly either in San Fran, or down the Amity and the construction walls, even Central Park.

There are still many areas for zones, so I would take the 1 zone rumor with a grain of salt.

People hate too many dead zones, and that has been voiced LOUDLY in the past.

I doubt Shrek Alley will be used. After demo comes construction.

The floats were completely covered in tarp, and were being parked under a huge metal awning.

They have equipment they can use to pull out rolling set pieces(HOS used MUles by Kawaski to pull props in place. With the right training props can be set up in minutes.

Universal used fork lifts after the park closed to bring in props when it was at ioa due to the narrow streets.
