Well I was on the fence about going to get the Silent Hill HD collection, guess I know what I'll be doing this week. Really excited for this. From what I've heard about the games I hope they focus more on 2 then Downpour, which they showed a lot of footage from in the teaser.

I have never played the silent Hill games, but I saw the movie when it came out in theaters and thought it was pretty cool. I immediately thought it would make an awesome haunted house concept, and I am thrilled they're exploring this franchise as a haunt. It's like a dream come true *tear*. seeing Pyramid Head in person would be incredible. I don't know if I would be starstruck or purely terrified. And if they have that warning siren go off as you walk in the house, I would get the biggest goosebumps. It's truly a scary sound, especially when you know what awaits you after it stops. Also the nurses...just cuz ya know...they are pretty freakin' scary.

Anyone on the fence with playing the games....DO IT!!! Seriously the creepiest, scariest games I have ever played (the first and second ones anyway). Messes with your head and tense as hell. Very excited for this house. I can take or leave the movie, though. It has some great parts (basically anything with Pyramid Head), but overall it's kind of "meh".

From what I gather, this will include elements from the games AND the movies. I know that the aesthetic of the amusement park from the second film will be featured in Hollywood version.

What would make that even more incredible would be to add a lighting effect to darken the room as you are brought you into the Otherworld. And then have transitions out, as you walk through the eerieness that is Silent Hill, ashes and all... Then BAM darkness and sirens again to bring you back to the Otherworld. That would be a great way to balance it out.

If they did something similar to the silver screams house as you're walking in, that would be pretty cool. Or maybe they'll give it a scarezone and do something with the projectors on the buildings with the paint pealing away and have the sirens go off there. silent Hill does lend itself to a scarezone as well as a house.

HNN is hooked on the same idea of a house and a scarezone for some reason. The announcement states it will "come to life as a haunted house." If it were to be a scarezone as well, they probably would've announced it yesterday.

Oh well. It'll be cool either way. They could definitely incorporate projector effects in to a house too.

Yes, they definitely could. Peeling flesh walls... I could just see it now.

I'm so excited for the Silent Hill hosuse  I've never played the games before, but I loved the movie and have always thought that it would make a great house at HHN too.

Imagine Silent Hill as an Alone house. I know that's not going to happen but just imagine..LOL I think that would be pretty creepy.

I guess since most of you have never seen other haunts the silent hill house seems exciting. Sorry I have seen the silent hill nurses at different haunts. This is just another way Universal will tie a new movie to a haunt. Similar to The Wolfman, That crappy Vampire movie (scare zone). I get zero excitement from this.

:iagree:
I don't understand why people hate IP hosues so much, this will be my seventh year attending HHN and I enjoy both the original concepts and the IP houses equally

In my opinion, if a haunted house has good set design and good scares, who really cares what the theme is? I have faith that the Silent Hill house will be good.

I have a ton of faith SH will be a great house. This is a theme that A LOT of us have been asking for a long time and we finally got what we've wanted. The nurses will be hot freaky looking chicks, and if we have those both inside the houe and on the streets, I won't complain. However, another thing I don't think someone has pointed out yet is the possible use of the projectors on the buildings for this house. To simulate the schange from light to dark worlds and the buildings fading away.
