Animal Actors stage? I missed the last year they did a magic show at HHN, but I could have sworn I read they used the Animal Actors stage... I could be way off on that though.

I want to say the last time they used animal actors stage was 4 or 5 years ago, and it was the Amazing Brian? We definitely had plenty of seating available to us in that theater.... not that it was big just that there was probably like 30 people watching it.

Brian Brushwood, and yeah, it's about half the capacity or so of FFL stage.

I agree with this. Magic show just doesn't equal Halloween to me. Now a Halloween based show that uses magic I think is a great idea, similar to Caranival of Carnage.

I think krampus has a high chance of coming. It's a creature feature with scenes MADE for a house, it was successful and a universal property. Even though it's not "coming out soon", out of 5 possible IPs this year I think it has a chance.

I always enjoyed creepy magic shows. I loved 20 penny and like it or not, carnival of carnage is in fact a magic show, just one with a lot more thought put into it. P&T are known for their gory magic acts, something like it would be great

If there was a downside to 20 Penny, it's that it was the same tricks literally every show. Bringing in different "Fool Us" acts could hopefully work around that--at least have a different magician every weekend.

ETA: I'd still rather they find the next Bill & Ted-like "killer app" Halloween show instead--but haven't in 25 years, so not getting my hopes up.

Cabin was picked for a house because A&D loved the movie and were chomping at the bit to bring it to life. It also had broader appeal because of Joss Whedon's attachment to it, which management probably appreciated.

I'm with BriMan though, I'd say 30% myself to a T.

Also, I'd rather Penn & Teller Present: Wizard Wars instead of Fool Us.

I agree with some of what you said, but I don't agree with claiming Cabin had a broader appeal than Krampus due to Joss Whedon's involvement. Yes, he is extremely popular in the "geek" community, but to the GP they probably would ask 'who?' if you mentioned his name (and this is all coming from a HUGE Whedon fan). I mean, Cabin was released in the months leading up to The Avengers, to which he was getting a lot of press for. If he had that much broad appeal, then his name alone would have carried the film farther then it went right? At the end of the day overall appeal and awareness for a film is shown when guests open their wallets and purchase a ticket, and in that respect Krampus out performed Cabin domestically, which is even more impressive when you consider Krampus was released in arguably the worst weekend of the year for new releases and faced far more competition at the boxoffice.

Krampus was also directed by the guy who brought us Trick R Treat and people clamor for that movie year over year too. I won't make a prediction on the likelihood, but I would personally be excited to see it.

I feel like Krampus is a shoe in. UC loves them some christmas halloween mashups, and they've been getting some mileage out of those snow machines. I think the variance in monsters would make it especially interesting to see.

Also, if they do 9 houses again should we expect a repeat? And if so what house was the biggest hit to do so? Pardon if this has been discussed I only read back like 5 pages for this speculation thread.

I don't think there will be another repeat however if there was, it'll probably be something father back around the 12-21 era than another werewolf

The only rumored theme for any houses I've heard (that isn't that list of obvious IPs that have been discussed already) could be a repeat. At least, everyone should hope it's a repeat.

And considering we're getting 9 houses, a repeat wouldn't surprise me at all after last year.

Edit - I talked to the person who told me about this house, and they were cool with disclosing it.

So, there may be a Western house. No details outside of that.

I'm down with a western house, it's been almost 10 years since the last one and idk, westerns and horror is just a great combo.

I hope we get a good repeat. Something like scream house where very little of fans have seen it in person so it would almost be brand new to them

I'm just waiting for the rumors to kick in, I know it's only March but my god I love talking HHN with you all. Dying for more

Thinking of westerns the first thought I have and this is just wishful thinking is Westworld. The new series is coming sometime this year!

When do the Florida resident discount rates kick in for on property hotel stays for HHN? I hope it's okay to ask this question in this thread.

I'd want to see something like Catacombs come back or Hades. I was very disappointed I missed those.

And a western would be fun. I wonder if they would go with a supernatural twist or do a sci-fi crossover. Either way a great environment.

Considering they halted production to finish the scripts, and "Westworld" is only a portion of the story, and the fact it's an HBO show which has no reason to partner with Universal on this, I doubt it.

I alluded to it, but people should hope they're bringing back Ghost Town. The house was in-flipping-credible. The make-up, the setting, the layout, and one of the best finales ever. If any house deserves a true repeat, Ghost Town is it.

If it's a different western, I hope it's Vampires vs Werewolves in a western setting. The gore, combined with the violence of the period, could make something truly unsettling.

Ghost Town was fantastic!

I know the last thing people want to see is more zombies, but I'd be completely OK with western zombies.

To say something; If a western house is indeed the case; i'd love to see their take on a open-air house, revolving on a western town of murders, outlaws and crooked sheriffs. It'd be a great use, especially if done on a Soundstage.
