Funny story about sinister. Watched in the theater with the wife. Driving home after and down a dark road in our neighborhood I tried to be funny and turn off the headlights I flicked them back on and a huge leaf fell off a tree and spun directly in my eye sight hitting the windshield. I screamed like never before and my wife never lets it go to this day. Hilarious.

So IF Irma makes landfall, which it currently looks like it will. Do we expect it to have a profound effect on the event? I know it's hitting a week before but it could disrupt construction.

They're probably about to start taking a lot of the outdoor stuff down anyways for RTU, so I think it could be business as usual for the most part since they'll start putting stuff back up after the weekend. Maybe some minor outdoor facade work and such, but being opening weekend I'm sure they would work hard to get everything in place.

Irma will probably kill the corn grown for the facade.

Yeah I thought about that. It would be truly sad if they spent all that time growing it just to have it destroyed the weekend before opening.

Window for it not affecting Florida is getting very narrow.

However, where and to what extent still very much up in the air.

What isn't up in the air is the strength of the storm. If you don't believe me read the updates from the national hurricane center. This is a massive and powerful hurricane.

IF (if if if if) this impacts Orlando it could most definitely impact HHN. A category four hurricane involves maximum sustained winds over 140 mph. That can rip buildings apart ... and most certainly tents.

I'm praying for friends and family in the state and along both coasts.

Hopefully the state stays safe and we get a full slate of HHN dates!

HHN has had to deal with hurricanes in the past. The tents are hurricane proof (not sure about the MIB queue one) If Uni learned from the past, they would use fake corn stalks rather than real ones. Uni could probably take down all the outdoor props in one day and add them back the next day.

Hurricanes weaken over land. The coast would be one thing, but by the time it moves inland enough to reach Orlando it's not going to have that kind of wind.

MIB is the only true tent, the Sprung buildings are designed to withstand hurricanes.

Until Orlando gets put under a Hurricane Watch, treat everything as "all systems go".

That said, keep a very close eye on the storm. Locals, I hope you start prepping before supplies run out. Travelers, have a plan ready and find out the next steps (whether you stick it out here, heading out early, or cancelling incoming trip) for when the time to make a decision comes.

Wal-Mart and Publix were both out of bottled water today already.

Remember places like Office Depot, Staples, and many other not obvious stores carry bottled water.

After dealing with everything else this year, I really needed an easy vacation. I hope this doesn't wreck things.

I'm here on the west coast of Florida just south of Tampa. Some people are already boarding up their homes and making arrangements to evacuate.

I swear the corn Universal grows is cursed.

I know the tents are hurricane proof. But that doesn't mean they're flood proof. Those things flood with an afternoon thunderstorm. What do you think a category 4 hurricane will do?
