What if "Meteor" is in reference to the Sun, and the setting of the house is in a post-apocalyptic world where the Sun has died (Hence, the moon being the only source of light in the house) and creatures with strange adaptations now exist. This does not seem to fit the '80's theme, but it's an idea.

Edit - Moon reflects light from the Sun, so this does not really make sense

That would be badass and fit Legacy’s clues. They could fit it to be a fake 80s movie or a comic; or just put it in a VHS sleeve on the website and call it a day.

This would be something that I would be genuinely afraid of. Slashers to me are cool because of the familiar environments, but this.... This would creep me out.

Probably. The schedule I got a few weeks ago had today. I started hearing whispers about Thursday over the weekend.

That's...highly debatable, as they did tease that "something" was out there, in various shots and in slight glances when trailers were coming.
