Is the only reason they do this to drive sales of alcohol in their park? They don’t seem care about people getting absolutely wasted inside the event if it’s at their bars lol

Yeah, I think this is an unfortunate but common policy — though at many sports stadiums in Los Angeles (BMO Field being one of them) you can still bring in sealed water bottles. Theme parks in general, but certainly in Southern California, need to upgrade their water fountain infrastructure. It's not going to get any cooler.

Funny thing is, at least as of last year anecdotally, Knotts Scary Farm straight up doesnt care about sealed water bottles, brought 2 in no problem whatsoever. Between that and knotts' updated scanners I really gotta wonder why USH is still like 10 years behind on their security infrastructure.

Honestly I doubt it, people can get hammered for a fraction of the cost at Antojitos or Margaritaville, so I really do think its just legal red tape.

I think it can be both

They get to sell crap for 20 bucks and red tape

I do hope CA makes a law, where you can carry Water anywhere. I'm sorry this is just the start of the heat coming to CA each year will just see mostly hotter and hotter years and I think if you are bringing in the giant and I mean giant things of water like me, test it or shut up. You think I'm bringing an entire bottle of hard drinks in my water bottle then test it but since the ice run out on the machines in parks you basically stuck in 100 degree with hot water.....fun. Thats my rant but think water should be allowed anywhere

To my memory they don't typically confirm it until the day of, idk if that's because its a last minute ops decision or if they don't want people to be able to actually prioritize and plan far ahead and want a more natural guest spread.

Something I wanted to mention is AQP and TCM had the longest lines during EPN. I actually think that will be how it turns out for the actual event as well, with an FX heavy AQP (and big IP) and TCM just in general being the most popular IP on the lower lot. Weeknd I think will get crushed in the beginning but ease up as the night goes on.

want to echo this — please bring a refillable water bottle if you can. If you can’t, buy a water bottle in the park and refill that. You’re going to get dehydrated even when you’re just waiting in line — be safe out there!

I hope most can because a water bottle would last me about a minute before I need a refill.

I'm bringing two refillable metal water bottles and an empty plastic bottle, so I can hopefully beat the heat...along with a neck fan and UV umbrella for the lines until the sun sets

The heat is so draining. It makes me feel like only going a few hours each night this weekend rather than the open-close routine.

I have a small water bottle which is more practical, but also the big Scary Farm water bottle too.

Not really apropos of the ongoing conversation about weather - is it possible to buy a ticket and then upgrade to Frequent Fear?

Money is tight and I ideally would like to try out a house or two to get a vibe on whether or not I think the repeatability is there to make a pass worth it or not.

Has anybody done this in the past?

[Sorry for double post]
I believe that's something either guest relations or the ticket booths at the front gates can help you with, they'll likely just take the price of the single ticket out of the FFP price and you pay the difference. It's possible they might have upgrade booths around the park too similar to the after-11pm Express passes they sell, but I could be remembering wrong about that.

One Youtuber (who I can't link here) is claiming you can in their HHN guide for this year. You pay the difference is what they said

I have express but I have 1 time express since I couldn't get express unlimited. Although I might upgrade to express unlimited at the park if the price doesn't cost that much more. Basically I would like to know a estimate of the price that I would be paying to upgrade my express pass at the park and if I can't do that or if it costs too much what may be the best way to manage express during HHN since I have never used it before.

Lets say the one time express costs 280 and the Unlimited costs 340 then you would pay 60 bucks. You pay the difference just like when you upgrade a normal ticket to express

I got discounted tickets though since I'm a pass holder would I get a upgrade discount also? It seems like this year it's a $40 difference I might actually upgrade it.

In the past, I've seen signs in the park saying "upgrade your ticket to a FFP", so yes, you should be able to do it.

However, I'd recommend just splurging for the FFP anyway because it'll give you the option to go again if you miss a few of the houses.

Also it's $179 online, it costs A LOT more at the gate. Something to keep in mind. If you go 8 times, you're basically only paying roughly $22 for each night.

Not sure if you will get a discount, last year when I upgraded my tickets from my free to express unlimited. I paid the difference of what a general ticket would cost to that upgrade ticket cost.
