Hey everyone. Ive been on here for years but Im not a frequent poster since most of my comments are really just wow thats cool type of thoughts to things I only know about from reading them here. Cant really add to much usually since Im not local. i am in Massachusetts...Anyway I have been thinking of relocating to Orlando for a lot of years and I was ready to start really planning last year but then I got cancer. so sad...anyway Im in remission after a really horrible year and now that Im trying to get things back to some kind of normal I was starting again to wonder when I could get my ass down there.
So ...what I was wondering since Im going to be starting fresh with my research is where do you all reside? No Im not trying to be a stalker neighbor, I was just wondering about areas or places I should or should not be looking at. I wont need to be finding a job so thats part of why I thought I could finally pick somewhere that I would just like being, rather than someplace I could just afford to live. Im on disability now for the indefinite whatever future I got left so I kind of want to be able to do what I love while I can you know? Would be great to be close to the parks but when you dont know too much all you see online is lots of condo places that pretty much look the same and have no clue iif they are good or bad places to try out. Anyway thats my long winded approach to asking for advice in looking for somewhere to relocate to (eventually). Moneys not really a big deal I can afford the rent there since here is pretty much triple what I see down there. Just looking for a nice type of place in a good area. What do you all think?
Thanks for the info :-)

I can't help with any of your questions but wanted to say "Hi"

I was born in raised north of Boston and have been to Salem numerous times. It's really a beautiful area.

I live about 75 miles (as the bird fly's) north-west of Orlando. I'm sure some of the locals will be able to help you out.

I also just wanted to say hello, Jim! I'm glad to hear you're in remission, and hope the cancer stays far away!

I live some 40 miles north of Orlando, and if I was planning to move here, I think I might try to find something a little closer to Orlando. I have a friend that lives like 5 minutes away from Universal, in a condo, but I'm not sure how much they pay

Hope you find something good around the area, and I'll see you around the site!

Hi...Bob thanks for the post. Yes Salem is great I try not to get into my sob stories too much but since you mentioned that I realised I need to update. Im in Tewksbury , Ma now, had to move in wit my parents when all the awful stuff struck last year...hasnt been great. I used to work for the hospital in Salem and live close to the downtown historic area. it was great...as you could probably guess from someone that wants to be a part of these kinds of forums I love touristy things. Salems as good as it gets around Boston. I was born and raised in Everett , Ma and moved to Salem once I was on my on anyway. Boston is a nice area but really kind of the same as NYC in that its only good for the upper percent really. Kind of have to be rich to live anywhere good as Im sure you know. I always wanted to live in Florida since I was a kid and now that I have the parents to deal with in their retirement ages I think it would be a good idea for us all to go where we can afford to have it a little better than we do here for a while.
You must do a lot of driving if you live that far out...but I would too lol

Hi Felipe! thanks I hope I stay this way for a long time too. chances are good so its just something that looms over I guess but I try not to think about it. It was a long year of treatment and seeing as I made it to where I am and probably shouldnt have I will look at it as a good thing that Im better now and not worry about the future for a while.statistics can make you crazy but I beat them all so far so looks good. Now I just want to enjoy some of my life you know? Thanks for the friendly words
