Horror Nights Wish List - Orlando

I'm surprised no one else has said it, but I would absolutely loooooove Art the Clown somehow at the event and do a house based on Terrifier, now the chainsaw scene may have to be changed up, but I think this could be a surprise hit to the event.

Besides that, would love to see original houses based around other phobias, and have a whole event where each house represents a different phobia that people have.

Spiders – Arachnophobia
Confined Spaces – Claustrophobia
The Dentist – Dentophobia
Snakes – Ophidiophobia
Darkness – Nyctophobia

Doctor Sleep comes out early this month, gonna keep an eye on how it does because I really feel it could get a house and the reviews have been stellar so far

Honestly I feel like the closest IP to Cabin now would be 13 Ghosts which seems to be gaining a cult following. Hopefully eventually

Y'all know I've been dreaming about this one for years (regardless of how the final season turned out).

You mean like Reflections of Fear?

HHNXXX: Apocalypse

Icon: Updated Eddie

Event Description: It’s the end of the world as we know it, the world has devolved into anarchy and chaos. Eddie Schmidt has become the leader of a rotting and decaying city occupied by his henchmen. This is his world and once you step in there is no way out. Out of the ashes of the past rises a new era of HHN.

Scare Zones:

Wasteland - Production Central & Hollywood: In this decaying labyrinth of steel and barbed wire you come face to face with Eddie’s henchmen. This is his world and you are merely a victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Food is scarce, water is at a premium, and unknowing humans are being hunted.

Meltdown - New York: The city has fallen and all that’s left is a nuclear nightmare where no place is safe. The people of this town have been horribly disfigured by the nuclear waste. Watch your step, because you might just be harvested.

Outlands: The areas outside of Eddie’s control are not as safe as you would believe, rogue gangs and hordes of disfigured creatures stalk these parts

  • San Fran: Biker Gang (Thunder Road) - In the decaying streets of this once pleasant city, the biker gang known as the Thunderheads protect their space from Eddie. Beware, no one who walks through here escapes.

  • World Expo/Springfield/Kidzone: (The Bone Grinders) - This area used to be a bustling industrial park where the top minds from around the world would gather. Instead, this area is now home to a maniacal gang that uses their victims bones to forge weapons in an effort to keep out Eddie’s henchmen

  • Central Park: (Deadwood Forest) - The radiation and contaminated water in the area has caused these deadly plants to mutate and take on a life of their own. Everyone knows not to cross through this area or you will certainly become plant food.

Houses (Just originals listed):

Run: Apocalypse - The game is over and this maze of barbed wire and chain link fence has become a bloodbath of horror that you must escape. Be careful, as you may just find yourself in Eddie’s traps

Fright Yard: Cannibal Harbor - At the edge of this nuclear city you reach the abandoned freight yard. As you wander through the aftermath of the nuclear blast you find that town members have made a permanent home here, there is no food….And they are hungry, for you

The Underground -These underground sewers are full of mutated animals ready to devour you. Whatever you do, don’t look back.

Carnival of Carnage: Shadows of the Past - The carnival has long ended, but the spirits of those that didn’t make it out still haunt the carnival. It’s quiet in here...too quiet.

Sawz N Steam: Anarchy - The harvesters know the end is near and the bodies are running out. It’s a last ditch effort to harvest as much as they can to survive just a little longer.

IPs will be presented as horror films showing at various theaters, you enter into different broken down movie theater facade and into the world of the film being portrayed.

That's my wishlist haha

Houses:

The Last of Us
Resident Evil 7
Slaughter Sinema sequel
Devil's Rejects

Zones:

Titans of Terror
Rob Zombie's 31
Anything that can cover Central Park in pumpkins again

Saw someone on the spec board post about Dollhouse of the Damned, would love a revisit to that house/sequel. I don't know if they would ever but I loved that house

Many people seem to be saying that Haunting of Hill House wouldn't work but I personally would LOVE to see it at HHN! Yes, it's more of a family drama story, but there are enough recognizable characters for scares...Bent neck lady, of course (as a drop-clown in poltergeist type scare?), the tall guy with the hat (stilts!), Poppy, that basement monster....and they have the perfect opportunity to use their classic finale of "who's a mannequin and who's real?" with the white statues that tend to move around in the house! Add in a house facade with the blinking porch lights and I think they're set!

new house idea: DIVIDE. a mysterious new website is taking the world by storm! however, the storm nobody expected has arrived and is sucking unlucky internet surfers into a technological hell.

(aka: i've been trying to log into disney+ for an hour now and i feel like this is scarier than any hhn maze so far)

Anarchade but from an Internet perspective would be great

They could have a 1's and zeros projection effect similar to SSE

With all the talk of Universal Monsters returning in some capacity for next year, I was wondering what people's thoughts would be on them as a Hollywood scare zone? Obviously they made an appearance as a scare zone just a few years ago at 25, but this would be a different spin on it. I think they could really lean into the 'Hollywood' side of things.

Think of having a couple of those mini stages, like the area has typically had in previous years, with each monster having their own show. The shows could be this odd 4th wall kind of thing, where you have a director filming them to shoot their scene in their own movie, but something could go terribly wrong during the shoot. Plus, by having the monsters on their mini stages, instead of roaming the streets, you eliminate some of the "selfie-zone" problems. Just fill the streets with generic spooky camera crew people or something, that way you can still scare without slowing down the zone.

It's a vague idea that I just thought of minutes before typing this, and maybe I'll think of a way for it to flow together as a zone.

For IP's, my wish-list is short but sweet.

Scream - It's a modern classic horror series which I think A&D can have quite a bit of fun with, and interestingly enough it'll avoid the complaint that some slasher houses get of being full of the same killer...but the actors are of different sizes. (eg, Jason, Michael etc.)

The Conjuring - I honestly love this series, and with it being a ghost/paranormal theme, that's something I think A&D can have a absolute field day with. There's a lot to work with, and there's multiple characters that would freak me out something fierce to see in person.

Hellraiser - Now considering some of the later films, there's no way I can say "ALL OF THEM". But I'd gladly take a house of the first two films.

As for original themes, I'd love to see a full-on werewolf house/zone. I would also love to see a killer/malfunctioning animatronic house a la' a abandoned dark ride of Five Nights at Freddy's, there's a ton of creepy/terrifying potential for that.

Wishlist Items:
  • Jersey Devil/Champie/Mothman/American Crypto Animals house using the Legendary Truth, set in a modern or recent time
  • Urban Spelunking/Dead Mall house, imagine Seeds of Extinction minus the plants. Instead it's the literal ghosts of consumerism past. Basically an 80s house.
  • Gremlins if they can get the puppets down. if they can't then don't bother.
  • Comedy house parodying torture porn movies. Make it 3D, too.

Silent Hill 3 comes to mind...I wouldn't hate something based on that
