I'm betting closure at 6pm Saturday. Depending on storm track late open or full closure for Sunday.

Weather service is saying to be where you need to be by 5pm Saturday, I could see a noon or 1pm closing of the parks.

I would expect a full close on Sunday. They have to give all non essential employees time to get to shelter.

Well they already put the mini golf at 6pm so that's why it seems likely as a predetermined cutoff point.

Are you guys watching the same news I'm watching? There's no way the parks will be open on Sunday. I'm skeptical of them being open Monday. This thing is a monster.

I'm hoping the floating mountains don't "float" away.

You tend to post hyperbole but on this I agree with you. We will know tomorrow what they will do with the parks once the track becomes clear.

I'm in Port ST. Lucie. We are hunkering down. This should be an experience.

If the eye passes over Orlando as a Cat 3, the parks will be closed for several days. There will be downed trees and building damage.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the last forecast I saw said it would be a category 4 all the way up to Jacksonville.

Im not sure of the timing anymore. Things were saying Saturday night to like midday Sunday as it passes, but now some are saying Sunday to Monday.

I guess it depends on how fast it moves.

This is what I was worried about. My flight is on Monday and there seems to be no way for it to happen. It's hard to predict just what kind of damage may occur. Also depends on if it holds its strength (which its holding around 922 right now). I am basically waiting until Sunday to cancel my flight. However, I don't want to be a dumb tourist who just causes more problems by being in the way.

Kings Island sounds like a good alternative for a staycation. At least it's safe.

Has nothing to do with any expected storms. Just when I happen to be coming into town and haven't had such good luck with storms in the past.

Actually, we were thinking Columbus Zoo on Monday, inside stuff on Tuesday/Wednesday (depending on rain), and maybe golf or something outdoors on Thursday/Friday. The Island is closed weekdays. I went there in mid-August and had a great time, though.

Stupid Irma.

Our flight was scheduled for Tuesday early morning, and I just pulled the plug. Universal was very accommodating with making a change to October dates - I honestly think they were just happy we weren't outright cancelling and just postponing. No change fees, got lucky that the same room/package was available in mid-October, they were very helpful on the phone and I didn't have to wait on hold for too long. Southwest Airlines was also good on making the change, although the new flights were slightly higher. All in all, I think we'll be glad we're not flying into chaos next week - something tells me air travel anywhere in the Southeast is going to be whacky for several days!

The airlines will move all the planes out of FL. And then back in behind the storm.
