Thanks for the update, Bob!

Good to see some movement here, as Kings looks like it's about ready to open pretty soon. Even though the rest won't open for a long while, the longer the worse, so it's good to see them at it

With the delays Merlin studios have had on the uk projects, could that be the reason for the delay this project has seen?

I have ressies for 4pm tomorrow for dinner and bowling at King Bowl. It's my oldest's 17th birthday. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures.

Kings is a really nice place, I definitely like it more than Splitsville, but I wish it were as close as Splitsville. That sunny day offer they run has been good and abused a few times already.

Glad this project's finally coming along. Will be interesting to see how the wheel changes the Orlando skylines.

Apparently, International Drive is something of a shell of its former self; I hear ten years ago it was a bit more lively, but I wouldn't know. Maybe this will help to bring back some of what it has purportedly lost

There's a few spots that have dried up over the years but seems like its picked back up with things like this, Dave and Busters and some other places popping up. You want to see things on a downward spiral take a drive down 192

192 is just...horrible. I really am kind of at a loss as to why Disney hasn't pumped some money (either through the RCID or directly under the Disney name) to do something about it. But that's a completely different discussion.

Can't wait for this to open now that it finally got off the ground. They've been drilling for the wheel foundations, so steel should start going up before long here.

Growing up we stayed along 192, so did my husband's family. So when my husband and I first visited Orlando we stayed off of 192. We both said, NEVER again. We couldn't believe how bad it was and couldn't believe growing up we both stayed along there. Well when our parents visited and we showed them 192, they couldn't believe how bad it was. So it really has gone down hill in the last 20 years and I don't see much saving it. Which is a shame, because it could handle traffic way better than I-drive ever could. I think all the Disney resorts have killed 192 and Disney has no desire to save it because they want people to see it as a dump and stay on property. They don't ever want you leaving...

We stayed at the Ramada Inn next to where Splendid China used to be just east of the WDW main gate and my wife had someone try to break into our room Friday night while it was just her and the kids while my brothers and I went to the parks to get their APs. Wife called me all upset and shaken up after everything happened and said we will never stay in that area ever again. Only reason we did was because we last min decided to spend the night Friday and were looking for some where inexpensive. Never again!

We didn't have any break ins (wow, scary), but the service was awful, the room was awful, the mattress was awful, the area looked creepy, etc. It was a Holiday Inn too, so not the bottom of the barrel place either - lol

I am glad the person did not get into the room and that your wife and kids are OK.
