The ones immediately behind Woody's coaster and George's water area are Entertainment offices, rehearsal area... stuff like that.

Some pics of the former Trike for you guys.

First thing, There is a strange sign with a cloth on it..

The former Entrance Sign:

There appears to be movement inside the former Trike area:

This is possibly the most interesting photo Jwhee took. Notice the Tree on the right. That pink Ribbon, is a Survey Marker. That is confirming that SOMETHING, is going on we just do not know what exactly yet.

Thanks to Jwhee for getting the photos.

It sucks how much good themeing existed in the Trike encounter.. I wish the rest of the JP island had as much going on. Hopefully they recycle everything in there and put it to good use

Yeah, it sucks, but if it wasn't "putting out" and didn't have the lines of people waiting/wanting to see it, then it is a business failure. Compare the Tri queue with the Hogwarts queue. The trikes are far more expensive to maintain than, let's say, Mr Potato Head in Midway Mania, yet that is all they amount to, a quick curiosity that one passes by and thinks, "cool".

Considering the new film is strongly rumored to feature Marine Reptiles I wonder what the odds are whatever they have planned incorporates it in one way or another. I am almost certain they will try to coincide the new film with the park expansion somehow.

Lets hope so. Maybe they can use a part of the lagoon putting in a sub ride with underwater dino's.
Never going to happen but it would be cool especially is a dino attacks the sub, you start to shack and water pours in.

you go into a dark lab, you see to your right an glass wall, an aquarium filled with nothing... then something comes close and closer... you cant tell what it is until it breaks the glass and its teeth are in your face, water pouring out and strobe lights are going off...Its a kronosaurus, and its trying to devour you

Ill be waiting for my check, Universal

I would absolutely love an underwater dinosaur ride. And I could totally see Universal doing a convincing 'faux' water effect similar to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at Tokyo DisneySea.

That would be neat. Does anyone know how deep the lagoon is?

So, apparently 'The Splinter' is a potential candidate for the JP mine coaster. It seems simple enough, but if it incorporates Dinosaur animatronics I could see it being fun.

I still hope JP has a least one other thing planned that is larger scale than a spinning ride.. =/

That would be awesome.

Worst case scenario, perhaps the bottom of the visitor center can get a faux aquarium makeover:

To be clear this was me repeating what had been said on this site in the past. In no way do I have inside information on this project.

So they would need to dredge more to put a ride in.

Yeah I've always felt the Splinter concept was going to come to JP's expansion. Now I'm actually hoping for something a little bit bigger in scale. The underwater idea has always been intriguing to me. But the more I think about it I still am really hoping for a Thunder Mountain type Mine Coaster.

They do a splinter type ride, they would be taking a step back in my opinion... Thats more of a carnival ride... not THEMED entertainment

I wonder if they can somehow work more space for a larger coaster by making numerous tweaks throughout the park.. I still am hoping for a darkride/coaster hybrid, but I haven't heard word of a darkride for ages. I just hope that whatever JP does it brings in some cool technology and surprises, and most of all- Dinosaurs.

If something underwater could happen, even if its more of a decoration, I would be happy.

The entire concept of the Splinter is to be a customize-able, theme-able wooden coaster, including dark ride scenes. There is not room in that area for a Big Thunder level coaster, and any ride built by Gravity Group is way more than a freaking carnival ride.
