Just FYI, but there is a small section of construction walls up to the left of Camp Jurassic entrance (at tail end of the old Triceratops Trail lot). And I heard drilling/electric tool noises coming from behind Raptor Encounter last night. Don't know what might be going on but thought it was worth noting.

Also, some new JP keychains are available at the giftshop and one of them features a baby triceratops and says "Jurassic Park Petting Zoo" on it. The image looks like the small puppet/animatronic they carry around so probably just based on that.

I'm not saying they are building a version of the "Gentle Giants Petting Zoo" in the back half of the old Trike Encounter plot... but damn that would be awesome.

It is something to keep an eye out for.

This is exactly the part of the movie I was referring to. It's beautiful in the movie and practically begs to be a part of a ride.

as cool as it would be to have a gentle giants petting zoo in that plot wouldnt make it more difficult to place a new attraction in Jp?

Only if the petting zoo cost quite a bit. If it was not too expensive it would not be a big deal to rip it out and put something else in at a later date.

Agreed. I don't see JP major expansion on the 5 year plan, so why not add something small/minor until it is on the 5 year plan.

Exactly what I was thinking. Just like the Raptor Encounter, minimal design and easy to remove/relocate if need be later.

Perhap's they could have the Baby Triceratops be controlled from a different room within the area of the Petting Zoo?

My hunch is, if they did do something like a petting zoo, it would be done in a way where a handler brings out an animal, one at a time, and people wait in line to touch it and get their picture taken (like Raptor Encounter).

Times and what dinos for each time could be listed on a board, same way SeaWorld does meet the handler times. This way people could be guaranteed a chance to see the baby Triceratops they already have. (Rather than catching it by chance roaming the park.)

They could either add more dinos or just start with the Trike for now. Hopefully the little area would be themed well-enough to give a feeling that more animals are living back there too. Sound effects and a closed stable with mulch on the ground would be good enough to create the right atmosphere (and cheap enough to pull off without breaking the bank).

As cool as a ride-able dino for little kids would be, just like in the film, I would guess that's not a direction a project like this would go in. Too expensive with way too small a throughput.

I got a look behind the walls of that small work area yesterday (visible from guest area) and it looks like plumbing and wiring for a food/drink kiosk is being installed so I expect the one along the pathway near there to be relocated. Hope they are moving the carnival games to open it up.

There were permits a little while back for a "Fast Pass Kiosk" in the Jurassic Park area. Might be something in regards to that.

If this is a new kiosk that's pretty bad. The jp area already has so many little food and game kiosks that are pretty much a waste of space. There's a lot of wasted space with the triceratops encounter and those stupid kiosks. The jp area has a lot of space and a lot of potential for better attractions, scenery, and a refurb could make it look amazing

There is plenty of potential. But Universal has so many projects on its plate anything major involving Jurassic Park is just a pretty low priority right now.

I wish it was a higher priority... with how much money Jurassic World made especially.

One idea: Put Jurassic World in the third park and put Pokemon in JP's current spot.
