I wouldn't say touchy, I think people would just rather be talking about actual possible rides that could be added instead of rides we know won't be added.

I personally would like a dark ride that would actually be in Jurassic Park, so we could ride things that would be on the island and not just the same, do something, dinosaurs gets out, attack us, we reach safety somehow. Not saying we can't see dinos on the ride, since that was the whole point of Jurassic Park, but this time observe them and maybe get a little scared when you see one around the corner, it of course being so close because it doesn't eat meat type of thing. Maybe a combo indoor outdoor (not real outdoor, fake outdoor) type of ride.

I wouldn't mind a wooden roller coaster, but I want a family one (40" Height Restriction), because neither park has something that the tweens and younger kids (5 year olds) can enjoy. It is either Kiddie, which no teen is going on or teen/adult that no 5 year old is tall enough to ride. I realize it will most likely be fake wood, which I am fine with. But it needs some dino AA's to make it fit properly.

I sure hope the new ride in JP isn't a kiddie ride because that would be pretty lame. But I guess that's because I don't have kids lol

When IOA first opened there were walk around characters of both Ian Malcolm and John Hammond. The actors Universal had doing these parts were very good at knowing their characters and being able to actually answer most guest questions about things like the different species of dinosaur on the island and discussing the ramifications of chaos theory. This is the type of experience I wish that Universal would bring back into the park.

Honestly, if anything needs to get added or come back, it should be the inclusion of streetmosphere ALL over the park.

I didn't know they had an Ian Malcom and John Hammond character walking around, but I read this and I think those two were probably the most sophisticated use of characters in any theme park. Islands of Adventure has top tier attractions and some of the best in Orlando, but they are severely lacking in atmosphere. The park has never really had the emotional pull that the Disney Parks do, but if Universal were to create more opportunities for memories to be made on your visit to Islands other than "I went on the Hulk and screamed a lot", Islands would really gain some power. That's why Disney is the powerhouse it is; not because they did it first or they might be better, because they have the power of positive human memories on their side.

Disney is in now in the business of selling nostalgia, not theme parks. Maybe that is the reason that I pay money to go to Universal and choose not to take advantage of free Disney tickets.

But in doing so they've shown the kind of stranglehold you can have on the mind's of guests with the right ingredients. Atmosphere, like Vince described, is one of those. They're taking the right steps with the details in recent expansions, but walk around characters like those in JP help create the deeper experience that stick with people longer.

Boy Howdy. Disney really does have a massive group of pixie dust addled fanbois. You know the kind, the ones that will spend $9,000.00 on their 437th trip to WDW although they have never been to a National Park, National Historic Landmark, The Smithsonian, or pretty much anyplace other the WDW. The ones that will fly from Maine to WDW 3 times a year for 20 years straight but ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to even consider a Disneyland vacation. EVER.

How is someone that likes visiting Disney a fanboy? I would just say they're oblivious to the fact that there are many other places to visit.

I think it's time that Steven Spielberg and JK Rowling have a death battle in the middle of IOA's lagoon.

The John Hammond character still gets rolled out for special events sometimes, but they have to be very special events. Last event I saw him at had Steven Speilberg and Ron Meyer in attendance.

While they may not have heard of some obscure place like Disneyland, I am almost positive they have heard of Yellowstone or Broadway.

No, I am talking about people that I have personally tried to talk into visiting Disneyland for it's vastly superior "Disney Experience" compared to WDW or even the Disney Cruise Line and they ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to consider it. They won't leave property to visit other quality theme parks not 10 miles from WDW. They simply refuse. Even though they have already been to WDW 437 times.

I do think that it is a borderline mental illness. And I am not joking about that.

Disneyland Resort looks to be amazing. I don't see how people could turn it down like that. And I think DCA now actually looks to be one of the better parks in Disney's fleet, with Cars Land, Buena Vista Street and the new Paradise Pier. And of course, the rest of the park has always looked nice (except for some parts of Hollywoodland). Though, I haven't been, so my assessment of the park isn't fair. I'm just judging by pictures, haha.

My response is that 2 of WDW's parks only have 5-6 rides each. Disneyland has 89 attractions and DCA has 35. DAK has 6 rides and DHS has 5.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing with you. DL is WAY better. My usual response is that DL is kinda like a best of WDW plus even more.

Okay, we all know some people are idiots. Let them have their fun being idiots, and don't let that get you down having your own fun doing a better variety.

How about them dinosaurs? :focus:

There has been some talk again about the dark ride. Where would it fit? Now in the first movie there was a dark ride... But the funny thing about it is they took an exciting and interesting subject (dinosaurs), and made an incredibly lame and boring ride out of it. Obviously it would need to be better, any thoughts?

I was happy to see that the Tiger's Claw is still there. Surprised they can care for it properly. None of you will get what I mean by that.
