BG and Seaworld workers often seem more grumpy and uninterested to me, but then, I think the current state of management over there is responsible for this.

Agreed, the general state of the company is in bad shape as it is, but especially BG/Adventure Island... it's basically just seen as a summer job, so yeah, they are a bit less "into it".

What I noticed from pics on Twitter is that it appears that they may be building the suspended catwalk inside the building at as it goes up. This could be interesting only because it portends the ride path.

Once they got most of the groundwork/foundational work completed, this project seemed to kick into high gear.

I love watching Uni's construction pace!

No that I can remember off-hand, at least over the last 10 years. I don't think its much of a draw financially for them since they are targeting that people are vacationing in the spring/summer way more often than the fall/winter (save for the Xmas). They want people to stay onsite and while HHN brings big crowds, its not family crowds. King Kong will probably be a ride that anyone 8 and up can ride and have fun, so my guess is Spring 2016.

Yeah and since that was essentially the same ride with a different pre-show, its hard to market it as a new E-ticket, so that date made sense.

Maybe they are aiming for a feb-April opening to bolster numbers for their slow period that will then carry through the sumer. Then at least if it gets delayed they can sort it out by summer.

June 7, 1990 is the day Universal opened, so June 7th 2025 will be the day they would want to open Kong IMO. thats not happening. Even though Transformers opened in 9 months, It was a complete replica. This will open in 2016, or maybe they decide to go head to head with Disney for the christmas crowd and open this in november/december.

However, King kong did close on September 8, 2002. Maybe they decide to do it on that day next year.

My guess is that they don't want to repeat the situation that occurred with Diagon with not being able to announce a date till the last second and into Summer at that. I'd say they will push to have this thing done as early as possible, even late 2015 so they can start testing and softs so that come Spring/Summer 2016 it is fully operational.

Drove by today and wow this thing is massive. It's nearly as tall as the trees that line Hollywood Way, which I always thought were pretty tall. You can see in the picture how it compares to Jurassic Park as well. They're not messing around with this guy lol
