Doesn't make much sense to me since Kong 360 takes place on Skull Island and the 8th wonder of the world is after Kong is captured from Skull Island.

it wouldnt have necessarily been the skull island scene if its set in new york of course they would have to created a new 3d element, maybe kongs rampage while looking for ann. it was just a rough layout if they insist on keeping the earthquake/disaster layout

No reason they couldn't use the 360 tech with a NYC set film. Obviously it would be cheaper to just import the USH film but, if they're going to keep the cityscape exterior, a city film would be more appropriate.

I actually like that idea, but would still prefer a final confrontation like the one from the old ride.

I'd honestly just prefer a modern re-do of Kongfrontation in general because the last thing we need is another screen based ride at Universal.

I really love the idea of replacing the skull island film with a new film of Kong destroying a city at night. But just in case, I'm refusing the watch the skull island film on youtube because I don't want to ruin it for myself if they go that route.

I love that animatronics type rides are not going away. I always love those type of rides better than ones with screens. There is just something more magical about them.

Totally agree.. especially when done right. Something powerful about real objects in operation. Way easier to look past than even the best graphics.

Can't wait to see what this re-do holds.

Have they been neglecting or scaling down the effects on Disaster in preparation for closing it? Yesterday the street didn't cave in during the ride portion...

No. Sometimes all the effects just do not work.

Until confirmed by Universal, everything is rumor.

It's a rumor. Unlike Jurassic Park we haven't seen any evidence yet.

 Until confirmed everything is always a rumor. One thing that everyone must remember is I as well as DH break some pretty blue sky stuff out and things change all the time. For instance I just got word on ANOTHER E ticket coming to IOA right after JP...

I doubt that would be an E-Ticket. According to the murmurs I've heard around here, Lorax would be more of a D-Ticket type of ride.

Disaster isn't completely terrible but I'm okay with it being replaced. Especially by Kong.

My friend is a recent hire at Universal Orlando and he even confronted me about the closing Disaster. He claims they have it posted backstage.
