I also really enjoyed the Dark Entities sets, they were pretty gory and unsettling... I think the problem was there was never very good scare actor interaction. I went through that maze about 5 times total over the years, and I'd typically only see 2-3 scare actors in the entire maze.

Okay... have to jump in here...

Dark Entities is NOT being "secretly retired/replaced". It'll be back for this year. Will it be on the "final season" roster? Most likely since it & The Depths both debuted in 2018. Waxworks debuted in 2019. So if they're retiring a maze this year... these are the 3 oldest. As for Dark Entities, I loved it because it took me back to HHN Orlando 2008 nostalgia ("Interstellar Terror")

There WILL be a 3rd NEW maze & it is located in the arcade. Rumored to be tied into the Gore-ing 20s SZ...

Last I heard, the new maze going up in Boardwalk Ballroom was ahead of schedule. Of course that's just a rumor & unfortunately no way to confirm it.

Dark Entities would be the most ideal house to give the flashlight treatment. I wish they would give it that instead of Bloodline.

Would they just use the Bear-y Tales queue as the queue for the arcade maze? I can't recall if Bear-y Tales was open during the event last year

BearyTales queue is literally upstairs with the ride, there is only a mini overflow queue for the ride entrance...

I rode Voyage of the Iron Reef during Scary Farm 2019, so it's possible it'll be operational.

The queue & maze entrance is rumored to be behind the building. I'll have to ride the train sometime soon to see if I notice anything the average guest wouldn't.

Here's "The Depths"

They actually started working on this maze about a month after the 2022 event in December. This entrance set piece appeared last month.

I'm expecting everything that was broken to have been fully repaired, functional & refreshed.

Both "The Depths" & "Dark Entities" debuted in 2018, so it's possible both are on the chopping block for 2023. This will be the 5th year.

In other news, the PumpkinEater replacement

From Screamscape: they are tipping a Gore-ing Twenties tie-in maze called Vacancy in the arcade.

Some of the hotels around Buena Park are the real horror hotels lol.

Assuming the rumor is true, that might mean an extra maze. I mean it looks like stuff is happening at all of last year's locations.

I'm hoping the other mazes sound way more intriguing than that, especially for the 50th.

Rumors for The Hollow replacement are Vikings or Norse Mythology.

Here’s to hoping the house in that area ties into the zone again as that is a nice high concept. My ideal would be either a Norse gods zone with a Viking house or a Viking zone with a Norse gods house.

Also, given the setting of Gore-ing 20’s, a hotel/casino seems out of place UNLESS it’s a hotel that secretly houses a casino/speakeasy. A small distinction, obviously, but an important one from a structure standpoint.

Main Entrance maze has church/gothic elements seemingly built into the set, so norse/vikings isn't too far off. there will be big storytelling details revealed this year that will connect scary farm lore even further. hotel theme easily fits in the 20s as it will have those casino/speakeasy elements. yall i been right here the whole time.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know roughly when single night tickets tend to go on sale? I've been checking the website frequently but the Scary Farm Pass seems to be the only thing being sold currently.

I bought my tickets as soon as they went on sale last year and that was middle of August. The Beyond the Fog day tours appear to have become available a little after that.
