Also, what about all of the HBO Max original movies that are being wiped from the service? So far, “Moonshot” “Superintelligence” “The Witches” “An American Pickle” “Locked Down” “Charm City Kings” have all been taken off and what that does is allow them to vault them and potentially sell those some day. It really seems like Zas hates the entire Max side of HBO Max and his preferred service would be HBO Max (without the Max stuff) along with a crap ton of Property Brothers from his Discovery+ side.

Yeah those films are already for sale on iTunes, Vudu, etc...when they previously weren't even on the site. Now that they're no longer on HBO Max they can sell them directly.

As long as he gets ahead of this and gives an adequate explanation. The longer you allow fan speculation to grow, the more likely the worse case scenario will become the narrative. I know twitter isn’t real life, but it’s full on sky is falling over there. He should be looking at what Disney has done in the last year. I.E. It really seems like Zas hates the entire Max side of HBO Max and his preferred service would be HBO Max (without the Max stuff) along with a crap ton of Property Brothers from his Discovery+ side.

As someone whose household subscribes to both--marriage is compromise--can't wrap my head around trying to combine them. One tab for 90 Day Fiance, one tab for Sister Wives, one for some of the highest quality peak TV out there? Also Discovery is dirt cheap, think it starts at $5, while HBO Max (rightfully) remains one of the priciest options.

I don’t think it’s that, I think Zaz just has a very different direction for the company and he’s not wasting any time.

Saying "there's only one Justice League" lines up with the rumor that WBD execs see the DCEU as toxic and specifically the SnyderVerse fans that will never go away as long as the universe exists. They probably hate the fact that Jason Kilar gave Snyder money to finish his cut because that gave those fans ammunition that, quite frankly, they didn't need.

Zaz only knows how to cater to women 18-45 which is discovery main demographic thanks to 90 Day Fiance and all the TLC shows and HGTV shows. For the brand to make money it can not focus on that demographic....He already is shutting down the kids shows, he already cutting children entertainment so thats a strike especially with Cartoon Network and Hanna Barbera being a big part of their portfolio, he is already cutting adult comedies which bring in money....he hasn't brought in any talent that is OMG amazing.

Oh i'm not defending what he's doing, i'm just giving perspective to the situation. I don't like it either, but Zaz only answers to Wall Street.

It's very clear that Zaslav and Chapek are practically the same person, but imo, Disney is at least set up better with Studio Heads/Creatives that know how to deal with talent well like Kevin Feige (Marvel), Kathleen Kennedy (LucasFilm), Pete Docter (Pixar), Steve Asbell (20CF), and Jennifer Lee (WDSA) at the helms of each respective division.

Warner Brothers doesn't really have that. They feel like a directionless company to me.

Looking further into it, it's not just Batgirl or Scoob: Holiday Haunt that have been canceled well after being financed or being in production/completed. The list in the tweet below is kinda crazy.

Some were just straight up cancellations, but others were more cutthroat such as waiting until days before the TNT show "CHAD" to premiere to cancel it and never air a completely finished season. Snowpiercer was canceled during production of season 4. Wonder Twins was canceled a month after stars were attached to the film. Add in the Batgirl and Scoob situation (as well as CNN+) and this all just screams a company being run off the rails.

Also, it's clear they are in the process of cancelling all CW content and honestly, after that, what use do they have for The CW? I don't even see the use they have for it with NextStar running the show when they take over.
