From the sound of the Mario Kart/Zelda rumor (which I can't find the whole original post of, but I think I have a general idea of what it was), I feel like Mario won't have much of a screen reliance, and Zelda will but only minimally for some potential effects in the ride.

And on the topic of how it would work, from what I can imagine for an innovative Mario Kart ride, the beginning would be a trackless dark ride segment with Mario driving around and giving you a mini Mushroom Kingdom tour and teaching you the basics of Mario Kart. Then that would be followed by an actual race section where the rider takes control. I can even imagine them implementing actual real items somehow, I mean who knows. The Zelda dark ride I'm hoping will be something similar to Mystic Manor, with unique effects and AAs rather then just screens, and no track to give it more of a free "adventurous" feeling. And a Donkey Kong mine train is self-explanatory.

Also, I agree on the point that we will probably get a few flat rides to even them out. Kirby-themed teacup ride, anyone?

Oh man. A Zelda bar where you can order red potions, green potions, and moo moo milk. I'M SOLD.

On that topic though, I wonder how the theming will go across multiple series. Will Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule each get their own fully themed sections? What will the scale of each be? I'm assuming that Mario will get the large full Diagon Alley Treatment and Zelda will too, but on a much smaller scale. Plus I'm assuming there will be at least one area that isn't themed to any specific series, so we can at least get some form of acknowledgment of series like Pokemon, Kirby, Animal Crossing, etc. Like a Pokecenter shop, The Roost cafe, or a Kirby playground.

Thought: what if one of the attractions wasn't a ride, per say.

More like an elaborate photo op like Raptor Encounter? Or a walkthrough attraction?

What would be nice if there is amiibo interaction throughout Nintendoland. Potterland has wands, Nintendoland amiibo.

I still think Universal should get a water ride as well, how about a donkey kong flume ride? Make it a hyrbid kind of ride like Seaworld's Atlantis.

I know Uni isn't going to shy away from screens anytime soon, but count me as someone who'd love to see another ride like ET, Cat in the hat or MIB.

I'd really, really like a Pokemon Snap ride designed in that way, and I think it could work really well. The vehicles would be similar to MIB with the ride environment laid out like ET where you raise/lower and go through different environments. Guests would be armed with cameras that score similar to MIB and based off the original game (is the pokemon centered in the frame? Is there more than one? You can see how scoring worked in the game here).

Borrowing from the game again, rerides could be more interesting by not having all the same Pokemon show up. Taking a picture of that rare one (Mew, Lugia, etc) would get you extra points. If they involved multiple ride paths (at least 2 places the track could split?), that would be icing on the cake.

If they did this, the ride could have its own area too. Can you imagine going to an actual PokeMart (buy "real" Rare Candies or Super Potions) or visit the Pokemon Center and seeing Nurse Joy giving a Pokemon care there. Universal could go for a unique social/interactive area by having Pokemon battle tournaments daily or something... there's quite a bit they could do here.

Now I make myself sad if this doesn't happen. :(

Oh man, PLEASE. Considering how huge Pokemon is, that would be perfect, but you never know with Game Freak's weird decisions with these types of things. If we're lucky, this may come in the potential "Nintendo Land Phase 2". So basically,
Phase 1:
- Mario Kart e-ticket
- Zelda dark ride (I'm guessing a d-ticket, with a trackless ride system and a puzzle solving element for the riders)
- Mushroom Kingdom + Hyrule highly immersive areas, with Peach's Castle and Hyrule castle focal points respectively (each housing the area's main rides), shops (obviously), character meet n greets, and food options (powerup themed food for Mario, potion themed drinks for Zelda)
- Generic-ish Nintendo area between areas, linking them together and including some non-Mario/Zelda references and such
- 1-2 flat rides
Phase 2:
- Donkey Kong mine cart
- Pokemon Snap dark ride
- Immersive Pokemon area, and immersive Donkey Kong expansion to the pre-existing Mario area.
I know half of this is wishful thinking, (or at least everything past Phase 1) but hey, I can dream! Although space might end up being an issue. I do expect practically everything in the entire Kidzone area to be leveled, including Animal Actors and the Woody Woodpecker coaster. I personally wouldn't mind if E.T. is sacrificed for the eventual Nintendo phase 2, but I'm apparently in a minority for that...

That would be awesome and a ride system that is lacking in the Studios. We can use a nice boat dark ride

I think a Mystic Manor-esque trackless dark ride for Zelda would work well too. Or if they go with the boat ride idea for Zelda, a MM-esque trackless dark ride for Luigi's Mansion.

I know this is all rumors but this just gets me so excited for the land. There's so much potential and I know Universal won't waste it. I can see it happening just as you predict with the phases. Phase 2 will most likely go into the empty plot between MIB & Simpsons. That's enough for maybe 4-5 new rides on top of the 3-4 they could put in the existing KidZone area. I think the flat rides will be themed to Yoshi and Kirby.

Same, being a huge fan of Nintendo and of the recent Harry Potter areas, I'm very excited to see what happens. Just asking though, what's the MIB/Simpsons plot exactly? Is it the entire parking lot back there?

Also, extra things I can see happening in both phases that I forgot/didn't think of:
Phase 1:
- A Yoshi carousel of sorts?
- A miniature Kirby area as a playground/kid's area, with a small Kirby flat ride
Phase 2:
- Interactive Pokemon experience to go with Pokemon Snap ride (maybe something similar to Agent P at Epcot?)
- Luigi's Mansion dark ride, you can use the vacuum on moving objects to reveal and capture ghosts as you move through.
- If you're right about them using the large Simpsons/MIB plot, that could open up potential for even more things, such as a large rollercoaster (Rainbow Road , Super Mario Galaxy, or Starfox themes would work great), or even more immersive areas added on with other series, such as Metroid, Animal Crossing, or Starfox

After thinking about my comment earlier, the more I like the idea of Zeldastrom.

Wind Wake would be the best art style for a ride so pirates style would be pretty fantastic.
