I'm not sure Universal has the room to build a decent sized boat ride in USF....It would be nice though.

Would love a POTC style boat ride, of any kind.

I would think a simple boat ride omnimover is far below the expectations of UC & Nintendo. Personally I really like the boat ride attractions, butI would imagine attractions significantly more advanced and "really bad" are more along the lines of what we will see.

As far as I know the location hasn't been 110% finalized yet...even though you all will tell me otherwise I still
have hope that this isn't for KidZone. Nintendo just doesn't belong in the Studios. It's less of a fit than Avatar in AK. The Studios has already lost a lot of its original/unique attractions but it shouldn't lose its identity too. Even though it's not so much about production anymore, it's based on urban locations grounded in reality. IOA is for the make believe stuff. Put Nintendo there and then what's the point of even having two parks?

I think it works better at USF more so now as a piece of celebrating Entertainment in general, with Movies and some of the more popular TV shows, Gaming lived and breathed Nintendo giving that its own specialty. As much as I don't disagree with you on the fantasy, it works better for celebrating one of the biggest pieces of pop culture.

This. Also, it would make sense for the video game themed area to be near a TV show themed area and a book (well, both book AND movie) themed area, if we're going for that "celebration of entertainment" vibe. Most of all, KidZone just needs to go and Nintendo seems like a good replacement as it's popular with people of all ages, especially families.

Ok, but if you put the celebration of entertainment spin on it, then what does that make IOA? It's just redundant to me. Before I remember going into Islands from the Studios and thinking "wow, I can't believe these two incredibly different places exist in the same resort" because of how unique each experience was. Universal was always Epcot and IOA was Magic Kingdom if that makes sense. Diagon Alley obviously closed this gap a little but it was still more based in reality (with the London theming rather than the all-out wizarding world theme). Nintendo going into Universal but made to look like an island from IOA just seems to me like they said "what the hell, we have space put it here".

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't IOA have this one rule of all the lands being Based on Literature (Which is going to be 'somewhat' broken soon by Kong). With USF; it was more the making of film and going into the movies. But more in recent years, its evolved bringing in celebration of Various Forms of entertainment, (Film; TV; Music & Literature). It seems logical for Gaming to be the next step in this. And I get it, we could be dealing with IOA theming but I think its going to be larger than IOA style theming.

I always thought was more revisionist history more than anything. I've always seen IoA being more 'natural fit' lands that work with each other, while USF is more Universal working on properties and adding them to the lot.

Think of it this way: IOA is stories being told through immersive areas, and each area is almost a a new immersive chapter based off something different. Studios is a celebration of entertainment as a whole, with a few immersive areas added to represent certain parts of entertainment. Like, Nintendo Land to represent video games, Diagon Alley to represent literature, I guess Springfield to represent TV to an extent, while the rest is just Hollywood and movies.

I was thinking about this the other day..The Studios has developed a more urban and city feel while IOA is more about the fantasy environments...

I think Nintendo will fit in much like Simpsons..It is a tad awkward though :/

DHS is facing the same dilemma. Once a studio park, half of the park will now be occupied by Pixar and Star Wars and it's even getting a name change.

I think USF has changed from a "ride the movies" park to a "ride the entertainment industry" park like other posters have said. There's nothing really wrong with that, as long as both parks have quality attractions.

Rumor: Universal Building Third Park Based On Games. (Including: Nintendo + Blizzard) - NeoGAF

I find it hilarious when something Universal related pops up on some other place and you get to see casual people start discussing it.

Wasn't that rule already broken? The closest thing to a body of water between LC and Hogsmeade is the Mystic Fountain...

Now that Mario, Pokemon, Zelda and possibly Donkey Kong seem to be getting areas no matter what at this point, what are the chances of some other Nintendo series getting some areas/representation too? Like a Kirby play area/flat ride area, an Animal Crossing rest area with some shaded seating and a Roost cafe, or anything Starfox/Metroid/etc related?

For now, i'd say very Unlikely. Heck, even Pokémon for a attraction could very well be not likely.

I think it might be best to only look at the original Three, Mario; Zelda and ol' DK for this first iteration, and for sure, if its a success then it'd be more plausible to see Pokémon represented but it'd have to jump a lot of hurdles to make it happen.
