This years Pokémon is Legends Z-A and I know that Arceus came out the same year as ScarVio but I don’t think that’ll be repeating. This years huge releases will be the Switch 2 itself, Mario Kart 9, and the new 3D Mario. I’m betting on Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion, and the next generation of Pokémon are 2026 releases.

We'll really have to wait until the Pokemon Presents in February to be certain. I'd love for TPC/Game Freak to take their time and spread their releases out more, but precedent says they probably want Gen 10 sooner than later.

And yeah, I don't think we'll get everything this year, but I could definitely see some really wonderful Directs this year announcing these for release before Winter '26.

There was the article last year where Utsunomiya was saying they were looking at ways to adapt more to modern game development, so here's hoping your right! I would love for ZA to be given as much time as it needs, if it turned out to be the singular November Pokemon title that would be a refreshing change honestly.

I don’t know if it would be November but I’ve always felt it would be a mid year title since it’s not a whole new gen. Holiday 2025 is Mario time as well as the Switch 2 launch. If I were Nintendo both of those timeframes would be slated for either 3D Mario or Mario Kart. Personally I like the idea of the Switch 2 launching with Mario Kart as the multiplayer offering and Metroid Prime 4 as the single player offering from first party with 3D Mario in the holidays.

Based on what information we do have, it doesn't look like the Switch 2 will release that late in the year. Allegedly, units have been in production since September of last year, which historically begins 6-9 months before release. Most estimates I've seen put the release date between late Spring and late Summer.

I meant as in the launch and the holidays are both Mario time separately. 3D Mario and/or Mario Kart will be coming at both of those times. I’m thinking Kart at launch and 3D in October/November.

Games are also doing well and the sales of Mario Kart 8 just continue to show how good of an idea it would be for the next Mario Kart to be a Switch 2 launch title.

Having been around this block before and looking at recent Switch releases and announcements I’m expecting ports and remasters like the 3DS got towards the end. The best part though is that this time I’ll be able to play these games on the new system and won’t have to be disappointed that they’re announced for the old one. I’m still holding out hope for Metroid Prime 2 & 3 Remastered and maybe even an HD version of Samus Returns? Please Nintendo?

I think we'll get all of these eventually, but their releases are probably going to be spread out over a period of time. I don't think Metroid can can sustain as many games in a single year as Nintendo's larger franchise. If Prime 2-3 remasters release too close to Prime 4, I feel they could jeopardize each other's sales.

Cool but I already have Yellow, Crystal, Fire Red, and Emerald on my Steam Deck. I’m not interested in modern Pokémon games so home support isn’t big for me.
