I'm confused here, those bookshelves can't be staying.

This has me scratching my head too. We’ve all been around theme parks and / or worked at theme parks long enough to know you don’t place objects on handrails like that.

It’s certainly an interesting design choice. It’s just hard to tell from the pictures how much of an obstruction they’ll be or how secure they are up there. But just from an operational perspective, what if people stop to look at them? Creates a flow issue.

Other than that, I’m liking what I’m seeing from the progress in those initial pictures.

So here's the weird thing.

I had heard that the Mummy would be basically remaining the same, and just updating and refurbishing scenes and track; and that the only change would be ditching the movie set and going with the "Museum" theme. The store's direction points to that change, but the "Hot Set" signs and Fraser still on the TV say otherwise...

I don't know that I love inserting Carl Denham into Universal's MUMMY mythology and linking it to KING KONG.

If it just ends up being an in-joke/Easter egg for the shop as an homage of sorts to Kongfrontation, that's fine, but Kong is not in the Universal Classic Monster world.

That sounds fine. I hope the atrium gets switched over soon. It shouldn't take too much to throw a little ticket booth, some bookcases and museum directions signs right?

It's not a big deal, clearly. I'd just rather have the attraction continue to be themed to the 1999 movie OR a more generic theme inspired by the 1930s/'40s films.

I meant the current coffee video. I hope it doesn’t return. It’s very dated. Removing the video would make the attraction more timeless.

Before, there was the entry foyer and then some switchback sections in the first couple rooms. It used to also have extended queues where the tribute store rooms are now that also showed the queue video. It’s possible we could be losing even more rooms with the behind the scenes angle with this update, which would only leave like 10 feet between the front door and the themed areas and one monitor.
