I saw in SeaWorld's online job listings the other day that they were recruiting for some of the top positions in this park.

They've been at it in construction for a while.

Unless if it somehow get's cancelled at the last minute, this thing is on.

There is no reason for this to be cancelled, even with corona, as it is being 100% funded by private company - they are franchising the sea world name, and they look like they are still wanting tong ahead with this.

Not sure this is on anyone's radar, but an update from September has this opening this year. No images from the inside or updated renders as far as I've found.

It's in the same complex as Ferrari World and Warner Bros World (the Yas World Resort).

Sea World Abu Dubai is about to open up and the park's theming and animal facilities look great.

Yes, the Disney model of have the foreign owned licensee pay for R&D, then clone it cheaper 5 years later when the exclusivity clause runs out.

Unfortunately, there are not that many things from this park that could come stateside. Doubt they spend the money on those massive areas and all that tech.

I could see them stealing the set design for some of the shows. Now that the design work has been done, the cost will be less. Same with the scenic elements used throughout.

Looks incredible but light on rides. Is the theming good enough that rides don't matter so much? Maybe for first time visitors.

When you have oil money the sky’s the limit. Beer money did similar things at the SeaWorld and Busch parks for decades…

I want to go to here (but would have to check up on humans rights issues first). Says the Floridian.

Obviously, it's kind of like going to China. With Dubai, the key seems to be understanding and not pushing against their culture and religious beliefs. It's more Western-friendly than some of its neighbors.
