That's J Whee's (former OU poster) website. He's like 14 years old. I wouldn't give them much credibility, short of a lucky guess. Anyone could guess Star Trek and have a certain probability.

I just want to clear this out.

1. It's more the collective unit of TPI and associates claiming the rumor. Some are older, so let's just not discredit.
2. The rumor has been floating around very lightly for a while, but they are the first to basically throw their full weight behind it.

If that's the big IP said to be taking over Disaster area, that would actually make sense. The Trekkies are a great answer to Star Wars.. not that there's much to answer to.

Star Trek would not just be a ride, lets make that clear. IMO the two places for this would be MIB mystery plot with a facade upgrade to MIB or maybe even KZ since it's next to E.T.

But a spongebob land a a startrek land would be a definite win for USO

F&F and Godzilla can go in San fran

EDIT: Just a reminder, the Mystery plot near MIB is pretty much the same size, maybe bigger, as Diagon. I think if this is true, Kidzone will take some of the mystery plot and the rest will go to ST. Maybe this is the 2017 response to Avatar?

2015: Kong
2016: KZ/Wondersea
2017: Star Trek & something in IOA?

missed opportunity if not a whole land IMO

They did such an amazing job with DA, lets just humor the idea of what they can do with star trek

If it looks anything remotely like that, I think Uni will become untouchable for quite awhile. Too many people's minds will be blown. They just would have created Stars Wars Swatter without Star Wars Land even existing.

Well this is fun and out of the blue. I wonder if it is so. I attempted to check and received an odd change of subject reply. Not sure what that might mean. Gotta love a mystery, real or imagined.

I really liked the old Star Trek the Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton. If Universal did build a Star Trek Land, The Poseidon's Fury building could possibly be reused and rethemed for it. An effect similar to the the final room where walls and ceiling Disappears could be used to "beam people up" to the Enterprise. The exteriors would be the toughest part to theme. All of the iconic areas of Star Trek are interior areas: The bridge, transporter room, Quark's Bar (from DS9) etc.

The Vegas Star Trek Experience was excellent. I enjoyed it greatly and the Quarks Bar was a good place to have a themed drink. But it did have a really low capacity that was a good experience since it made you believe you were in the working control room with just a few others, but wouldn't work well in a theme park that needs high capacity. Though it's capacity was sufficient for a casino.

Sorry if this is stupid question.

Disney Has Star Wars right? Is Star Trek just as big of a draw or what? What type of numbers would be looking at?
It's pretty incomparable, Star Wars is definitely the bigger IP but Star Trek is seemingly endless and has an insane following. It's still a incredibly big IP though and universal should (and could) definitely create a ride/land based on it to rake in the crowds. Hell they could probably have a celebration of star trek and literal millions would flock

Star Trek actually came before Star Wars. Star Trek also has better merchandising in my opinion than star wars...I see a lot more people buying Star Fleet uniform shirts than Star Wars jedi robes.

Thanks. I used to watch All of Star Wars Movies when I was little. Not sure what Star Trek is but sounds exciting. I'll have to do my research like I did with Harry Potter.

Star Wars merch isnt limited to Jedi robes lol. Yoda backpacks, shirts with different characters on them, shirts with quotes or witty SW-related pictures, custom lightsabers, collectible cups, figurines...the list goes on and on. And I see WAY more of that stuff than Star Trek stuff.
