This is one attraction where I'd never use a single ride option.

A strong YES to that. The strength of the attraction is in its multi faceted nature. Every part of the pre shows, which are almost complete attractions themselves, and the final ride through, are Excellent. Best attraction I've ever experienced....even a tad better than the late Star Trek Hilton Vegas Experience that had two different adventures in a multi level attraction plus a ST museum and themed bar.

I dunno. If you're dedicating an entire shuttle to single riders (instead of guests from the standby and Lightning Lane queues), I'm not sure you're actually optimizing capacity, as you're making those other lines wait longer. The only scenario where I see this being potentially useful is if the regular queue in the Star Destroyer is so backed up they can't reasonably send more guests from the usual lines...

I guess it depends on where the bottleneck is for the ride. If I was Disney I’d do the takt time surveys to see what the max throughput of the shuttle is compared to the actual dispatch intervals to see if it does starve load or not. I assume they probably have figured that they have some extra shuttles they can send out and not starve load.

@Alicia pointed out on Twitter that they only appear to be sending single riders when the regular queue in the Star Destroyer does get backed up. I then considered that with only one lane to ingest regular riders (versus the usual two), that line is far more likely to spill out into the hangar before incoming guests can be grouped. That does mean in theory single riders will be dispatched through the shuttle fairly regularly, but it also probably means both the standby and lightning lane queues will move more slowly prior to the merge. An interesting conundrum.

They were pulling from the regular standby fast so I don’t think it takes away from regular not having that left lane for it. And singles are forced to wait awhile for a shuttle till it’s convenient.

Theyre still testing things, but CMs and guests seem to like this method best so far. I know I did!

I mean, does it? Single rider lines are for filling in spaces, and the actual interval of ride vehicle dispatches aren't different so the capacity hasn't changed. I don't see how this would lead to longer lines. Example: they could theoretically send a shuttle 20 times an hour, but due to real life factors they only send 17 an hour to prevent backups in the hanger. So take those 3 dispatches and send single riders instead who'll fit into the ride capacity. make sense?

I'll be up @ MGM this Sunday to visit Galaxy's Edge for the first time. Just curious what the overall health of RotR is? Is it still not doing so well, or have some of the persistent issues been addressed??
