It's interesting they had to take a lot of the ties off the track that were present in aerials during its construction. This is most notable when entering into the first indoor show scene. I wonder if they are having some clearance issues or something along those lines that is causing them to have to remove those and potentially other thematic elements.

Is there a reason you’re so needlessly hostile? Like, damn, dude. Everyone that shared their opinion has couched it with giving it the benefit of the doubt, acknowledging that, yes, we’re watching a video, but people are still allowed to be disappointed by what they see. Being a snippy jerk doesn’t somehow make you better than everyone else, especially when no one was begging you personally for validation.

I really like how the land looks overall and the tunnel that connects the two lands is very well done.

People who have ridden it who didn't like the land gave the ride primarily overall positive reviews. (Mind you the people who got into the land to ride at those who have been going to USJ for years and are the toughest critics as you had to have an annual pass to be allowed to even apply for the lottery.) People who are looking at at tik tok live ripped video are disappointed.

Not saying this to diminish anyone's opinion but just pointing that out there is not always a good one for one match for visual experience and actual experience.

I think the discussion here was fairly level-headed and constructive before this comment, and though I do acknowledge that what I said was a bit sensationalist, this is what these discussion forums are here for. Also, you embarrassingly spelled “embarrassing” incorrectly.

I’ll reserve any further judgment until I’ve had the chance to ride it myself at Epic Universe because, as some have mentioned, a low-quality TikTok clip should not be the sole source of my opinions on an attraction. I’m still let down by some of the execution here, specifically with the exposed ride building internals, the shattered illusion of the faux-track, and the static figures, but I’m hoping that these can be attributed to the odd camera perspective and light exposure issues. If it’s not that, then maybe the larger footprint (and budget?) at EU affords them the luxury to fix these issues? Nonetheless, this still looks like a blast to ride and really I’m looking forward to it—just a bit disappointed at the moment.

I think the only bad thing I noticed was the tunnel scene and the exposed roof. That felt like something you see in those Dubai movie world dark rides. It's terrible.

After discussions with the moderating team, we all agree that everyone should feel free to disagree with one another without fear of being insulted, regardless of the severity of the disagreement. To uphold this standard, we will implement a "Zero-Tolerance" policy towards insulting members and will issue automatic bans (length dependent on the severity of the insulting post) to those who violate this rule. If you believe someone is crossing the line and resorting to insults, please use the "Report" feature so the moderating team can evaluate the situation.

Thank you!

We need a Nintendo E TICKET.
Tbh, I never saw this ride more than a kiddie coaster D-ticket and it looks fine (besides the tunnel).

Seems fine for what it is. My interpretation of what info has been out for the past 7 or 8 years has been that the ride would be a D ticket, short in duration and capacity, set in a beautifully themed land, and tended towards the mid aged kid demographic. This newer info doesn't seem to deviate much from that. Bottom line, I rarely expect a long ride from a coaster, and that's one reason why I generally prefer dark or hybrid attractions at Universal or Disney. Heck, Tron is like only a minute or so. I have no problems with what I'm hearing, only that I wish a ride like this, that seems to be lots of fun, was longer. But, looking at its length, and lack of long stops, it always seemed it would be quite short.

There is no shame in sharing feelings based on what we’ve seen, so that is absolutely not my point as I’m going to post my thoughts as well.

I was going to avoid a POV but given the reactions I was curious. My main takeaway is the ride vehicle itself is the star, and those aspects of the ride seem fun and lightly thrilling. We also haven’t seen the very final scene with some more AAs. I think until you’re in the mine cart itself it’s just all about the visuals around you, which we’ve largely already seen. Seems cute and fun, but probably not worth the long waits it will have after my first ride.

Talking to someone who has ridden it:

7/10. It's very shaky, and some people may get dizzy. There are 3 indoor parts during the ride, and it's pretty dark.

I have personally worked with Japanese* licenses like Pokemon and with Toho on Godzilla for consumer products and indeed "approvals" can be a nightmare. I can believe Universal's hands were tied. If it is a struggle for Universal to create a 9/10 E-ticket attraction in partnership with Nintendo, does that make anyone question whether the Epic Universe expansion plot next to DK is used for more Nintendo or to expand Dark Universe even more?

For example, I'd rather have an indoor suspended Dracula coaster -- Space Mountain-esque but where you swoop out of the darkness over and down through a village -- all housed inside a dramatic Transylvania mountain range... to challenge the majestic backdrop/placemaking Disney is proposing for Villains Land. With an attraction like this, Universal Creative has full control.

*And to clarify, I've worked with Blair Partnership/Harry Potter, Disney, Universal, and dozens of other studios and global licensors over 25 years. The reason I mention Japanese is because in my experience, as demanding as many licensors can be, I found the Japanese licensors to have more definitive and un-explained (literally, they wouldn't provide an explanation) requirements and limitations. It was often a black box type situation, where you waited months to hear back and it was just "no." It often felt like they preferred the project just not happen, like they "didn't need the money." It may have been cultural, I don't know, but it made things difficult in an already difficult field.
