Diagon Alley as a themed area makes the loss of Jaws worth it. It's a remarkable place.

Ride-for-ride, though... I'd take Jaws any day over Gringotts. Every day. All the days.

Does japan have a larger footprint of land to work on? I know Universal's space is very tight

For acreage, USJ closely scratches USF's by about a few acres, but that USF is about 108.

Are we really still talking about JAWS?

The ride was super tacky, took up a ton of space, was a once a year attraction

It was replaced by Diagon Alley which is a full fledged land, takes up the same amount of space, is a must see every visit

I agree. I could never understand the allure of Jaws. I thought it was a pure one and done attraction. It was a ride we skipped more often then we rode it. OK, but certainly not great. ...Diagon/London/Gringotts/ Hogwart's Express, on the other hand, is still the greatest achievement in theme parks, at this point in time. Hours and hours upon hours of fun, interest, sightseeing and entertainment.

It is indeed!!

To bring the topic back to Bourne/the replacement stunts. Please just don’t make it like Sinbad.

I would expect if they're going with Bourne (or even some other action-centric franchise) that they'll leave behind the cheese and campy quality of a show like Sinbad. More plausible, gritty stuntwork, no swashbuckling.

Given that this is replacing T2, I would expect a show generally in that same style in terms of its tone, which was fun and had a bit of cheese, certainly, but also played things straight enough to have intensity and stakes.

Most especially the dialogue. Sinbad would be better if the writing wasn't so corny. Sinbad is actually a bit better since they refurbed it two years ago, fixed the effects, and toned down the corny dialogue. But the writing is still weak. Whoever wrote that needs to stay away from this new show/attraction.

Do we think this will have 3-D elements or are we talking about something on par with the Wild West Stunt Show?

Also, I wonder if this will use the unused concepts from the planned 007 stunt show

I’ve heard no 3D, (but that doesn’t mean no screens.)

I doubt it will be anything that grand, unfortunately. By all accounts, that was going to be a pretty over-the-top show in terms of production value, and Bourne doesn't really fit that.

Casting was holding auditions for stunt performers back in Oct. Seems likely there will be stunts.

As great at a true Stunt Show in a Studio theme park would be, I believe the merchandise and family appeal as well as other conceptual developments on the other coast point towards this as Shrek has yet to close, Universal Studios Hollywood Opening DreamWorks Theatre Summer 2018 - Coaster101

It's confirmed to be a stunt show, and 99% sure it is Jason Bourne themed.

I'm hoping they will be able to create as grand of a show that Terminator 2: 3-D was. The production value of that show was huge.
