Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how big the plot of land that MIB and FF sits on is?

The enclosed area comes out to just over 5 acres!

I'd stand to think it wouldn't really be a big surprise.

I had a feeling. Might be something to look for. I think that has everything the permit lists.

My wild card is that LC becomes Pokemon as they don't want to wait until 2028 to begin work. Pair it with an SNW expansion for Epic and you can have a mega Nintendo/Pokemon promotional campaign.

FWIW someone on WDWMagic how is supposedly well informed on matters said "things move around," in regards to the prospect of Pokemon replacing Simpsons. Hopefully he's on to something. Springfield seems too small for a massive IP like Pokemon.

I really hope it's not Pokemon going in LC. USF needs a massive draw like that much more than IOA. Pokemon has sounded like it's been in the works for ages and they've been very close to pulling the trigger a few times already. But please, put it in USF somewhere.

I'd hope for Zelda in LC just because LOTR and Wicked both feel a bit too similar to the Potter IP to go immediately next to Hogsmeade. (Yeah, yeah, Hyrule castle though). I think having some Nintendo presence in all 3 parks is also a good idea to draw people to each of them.

Pokemon just makes too much sense to not do somewhere eventually. An old IP that is more relevant today than it was 20 years ago. Over 1000 pokemon with endless merch. Rides that will literally print money (pokemon snap).

I bet Pokémon is going to FFL and MIB plot. A massive AR spectacle show with all the Pokémon’s can fit the theatre plot, MIB can host the main ride, and that gives a lot of the FFL and outside plots of land to make it super immersive in whatever theme they want. A Pokémon gym can probably fit in same building as the show. Bing, bang, boom.

The address for the permit is IOA.

Then forget everything I said about it being in USF and apply it directly to LC honestly.

Have to say, WIcked feels like a flash in the pan. In 10 years are we still talking about it? A land is a huge commitment.

Reminded me of our old friend, the late @Teebin . That's the way he used to throw a clue out. He made you guess, and wanting more.

I knew it! Finally, my dream of a Flash Gordon land will be realized! Complete with a Rocket Cycle ride.

I can care less about the franchise, but The Wizard of Oz (and anything loosely associated) is a very familiar story to pretty much everyone.

The Broadway show debuted in 2003 and is still running. It's not a blockbuster IP like Potter or Nintendo... but it certainly justifies a presences at the parks and is certainly not a "flash in the pan". It's a setting that will look fantastic in a theme park setting.

If it ends up being Wicked, it's perfect for IOA as the park really needs entertainment, and Wicked is bound to have a stage show (or some form of one).

I don’t want a Wicked land, but the IP has been going strong for about 25 years now

If it’s a surprise, and there’s been hint for a 2026 addition, or maybe a show before from Alicia if I recall, I wonder if Waterworld is going to replace the whole area. I can’t imagine construction would be long and it can be the same or similar land from Beijing. Hasn’t it been confirmed Waterworld COULD fit here? That would be immediate help for IOA for a stage show and nice late summer bump next year. Just an idea.

Pokémon going to IOA when USF is literally being held together by three 20+ year old attractions and duct tape is a bizarre choice.

USF just can’t catch a break. Losing Super Nintendo World and the Ministry ride, having too many disposable attractions installed that replaced fan favorites and now Springfield gets to kick around in its sad shell state for another half a decade.

The poor park needs a DCA style overhaul asap.

I agree... but maybe they have something else in the cards for USF? I am 100% in agreement with you on a DCA-style overhaul for the park, but Pokemon is too strong of an IP (and revenue driver) to wait until Simpsons is gone.

Pokemon has probably been in development hell for a while now, maybe they can fast track it to LC and then leave Wicked for Springfield.

Is there something that has credibly substantiated the claim that the Simpsons contract has been extended? Last I heard, the source of that rumor was Rix Flix of all things.

Maybe we were all just so blinded by the Yellow that we thought it was a wildfire.
