I think Disney has options to look at the vitality on how to translate The Simpsons into a ride that best represents the IP, without having to immediately go to the same level as per what Universal has done.
Mind thinks on a ride that explores unused concepts such as the Nuclear Power Plant (as per what was originally speculated/rumored for us), or even something that'd represent things more close to Treehouse of Horror could be viable. Truthfully they could also look at what concepts were considered for the Dubai park, and go from there.
They got options--so long as they're willing to spend the time to figure things out.

Getting back to the matter of Simpsons at UDX, I'm more interested to see how they juggle things around for Hollywood compared to Orlando. Doesn't help our case compared to Orlando's that the infrastructure of our ride is of a few things:
1.) It's main ride is on the side of the hill, and is flanked by infrastructure for the Studio Tour & Bathrooms, and is also flanked by the return dive for Hollywood Drift
2.) Has kitchen facilities and infrastructure directly tied to that of Hogsmeade and the Studio Tour, and that it will have to be likely done in phases ahead of a closure date.
Atleast for Orlando, y'all don't really have as bad of an infrastructure crisis that comes down to the sake of Springfield. Nuisances, to be sure; but it is more feasible and workable to see how they won't have as much issues when work begins for the UOR replacement.
Even in regards to something like say, the lagoon; we've seen them work things out with a partial draining of portions, to allow workers ease of access. The only thing that makes me wonder is what happens to Kang & Kodos. Logistically I think there might be incentive to move it to be a "Expansion" for DreamWorks Land, and would be a potentially easy way to add a kinetic attraction amongsts the landscape of the area at large.
