Via an interview on Extra TV, Pedro shared a bit of light on the final episode of Season 2, in that it will be directed by Peyton Reed.

Reed is a good choice for the finale... but he directed probably the weakest episode of the season. Although in his defense, he wasn't given a ton to work with in that episode and I'm assuming he's going to be working with an action-packed episode here. I remember hearing Giancarlo Esposito saying at one point that he broke multiple lightsabers on set while shooting the season and we've yet to see him in combat this season.

As far as what I hope for the finale, I do want an episode that's pretty close to an hour (and I think for a finale it should be worth it). But overall, I just want a really good season finale. I'm going to guess that Din doesn't get Grogu back by the end of the episode, Ahsoka and Bo-Katan show up and Bo ends up with the Dark Saber somehow. Idk if we'll see Moff Gideon die or not. If so, we'll almost certainly see a Thrown tease at the very end.

I think we'll get a near Hour long episode, that ends with Grogu away from Din's reach and him being fully unmasked and public in the group, breaking his code completely and not just to one member.

No Ahsoka or Bo-Katan, but definitely a cliffhanger scene with Thrawn being relayed on Grogu's location confirmation, and with a promise to begin the main work soon for the blood donations.

What I’m wondering is... is Boba Fett truly an ally of Mando or is he (and in turn Fennec) working for the Empire and they will turn on Din last second and when they need them most.

Remember, Boba only found Mando when he had a tracker on his ship, meaning it’s possible he’s been in contact with the Empire. Also, Fennec has been acting slightly shady on a few instances the past few episodes.

Truthfully speaking, if that Boba show is infact going forward (and if it's set after Season 2..which I'm wondering), then I do not think they're dedicated to Empire.

They are bounty hunters. Neutral is their game.

I'm hoping that the majority of this next episode is a flashback to right before the previous episode, and it shows Boba Fett painstakingly and lovingly repainting his armor. With a brush.

Like a Bob Ross, except a killer bounty hunter.

Not saying they’re dedicated to the Empire at all. But he could easily be pulling a job for them. A long con, essentially.

Honestly, the easiest guess could be that they pinned a similar tracking beacon during the time when Din was beginning to get his next client after obtaining the gear and defeating the Krayt Dragon.

There would be a window of time for that. Especially if it's a well hidden one. Also, Din and the client were flying without hyperspace, so he could've tailed quietly without raising suspicion, simply waiting for the right window.

Hooooo Boyyy. Also Make sure you watch the post credits scene. The Book of Boba Fett confirmed for December 2021. Not sure if that's a spin-off or a Season 3 subtitle?

Loved everything about this episode. Jumping right into it was great, I loved that they showed the strength of the Dark Troopers by having Mando battle just one of them and showing the trouble he was having. The fight between Moff and Din. And then when they were about to be just killed with certainty, Luke comes in and it WAS Mark Hamill's face at the very least (he was credited) and whatever they did with the de-aging they killed it because it looked just like he should. Max Lloyd Jones was the body double. The word's didn't seem to match up at certain points, however. I thought rolling out R2D2 was a bit much, but who cares at that point.

Luke taking out those Dark Troopers was VERY reminiscent of his father coming in as an absolute wrecking ball at the end of Rogue One.

Overall, that was a great ending to the season, and to be honest, since Luke is leaving with Grogu at the end of the season, they can probably have him back by Episode 1 or 2 next season since they can use the excuse that he'll have trained in the time off between.

Based on everything we know, it's not looking good.
Although I still think this is quite a few years before the whole Ben Solo incident, so maybe Grogu turns out to be a successful student for Luke? Probably not, though. Now I'm wondering if there will be a Luke spin-off (which again would shrink the galaxy), but there's a lot to explore in terms of his Jedi training days.

I mean come on, 10/10 how do they ever and I mean ever top that for Mando? It was action packed and ended on such a strong yet sad note. So much to unpack but my god they literally spat in the face of the last jedi....Luke literally did what we all wanted him to and be the most badass Jedi since his father before him. I understand where Mando season 3 goes but.....not sure how it will work without Gogu. People really love that character

Based on Grogu's reaction to R2, I do wonder if the two have crossed path's in the past. Like, could it be R2 that saved Grogu from Order 66?

I don't think we'll be without Grogu all season 3. Whether we follow Luke and Grogu or he comes back to Mando at some point, I'm pretty sure there will be some of him.

And even if not, the story will still center around him in a way as remember, Gideon got Grogu's blood which is likely to make a bunch of Snokes or whatever. Remember, the back half of this season actually didn't have that much Grogu anyway. And now you have the whole Boba thing, you have Bo-Katan who still wants the Dark Saber, etc, etc.

I'm gonna be honest. I've had a lot of thoughts about this show but have kept them close to the vest so as not to rain on anyone's excitement. That being said, this season left me pretty cold, and I'm not really interested in multiple seasons from Filoni and Favreau. Will definitely keep an eye on The Acolyte and Lando though.

That's fine. I get not liking certain things, especially from the standpoint of using characters like Bo, Ahsoka, Luke, Cobb Vanth, Boba (and bringing back Fennec) all in one season. I personally enjoyed this season much more than the first season.

I do think Disney needs to clarify if The Book of Boba Fett will be Season 3 or if it's a spin-off though. If that's a subtitle to Season 3 (Disney literally just announced Mando Season 3 for December 2021), then this could be the end of Din and Grogu's story and we move on from that. Which if it's the end, I'm ok with. It actually felt like a proper ending, tbh.

Guess I really ate my words on the whole luke not showing up thing lol. Honestly really don't know how I feel about this. I don't think the CGI on his face is aaaas bad as people are saying, even though I did think his lips look weird, and I honestly still wish it was someone more obscure. For whatever reason I just prefer Mando keeping his connections to the main line of movies to secondary or tertiary characters rather than main ones, might just be me though.

TBH, I’m not sure if it would’ve made sense that any other Jedi *except* for Luke show up. They’re saving the Ezra storyline for the Ahsoka show, too imo. Plus, I don’t think Ezra could’ve given those Dark Troopers the business like Luke did.

I think Grogu is about to go get chopped up by Ben, though.

wrapped things up much neater than I would have thought. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, they do with Gideon and his cruiser. Is Grogu’s blood still there? Also wondering what Mando will do without a ship? Does he start by tagging along with Boba or are we going to see the Dark Sabre storyline play out on Mandalore?

I think a lot of the focus of Season 3 will be on Mandalore if I had to guess
