Sooo Mad at myself. I broke at least one toe this morning. How am I going to walk/run around WWOHP with three kids with one or two broken toes? If you see some poor woman hobbling through the shops with a limp and three kids the weekend of the Grand Opening...that will be me :-)

I'm waiting to hear how the food is! Strawberry Peanut Butter ice cream....mmmmm. And prices would be nice as well.

I didnt shoot any pics of the menu, but as I remember the prices on the lunch/dinner/desert selections was comparable to the resturaunt in JP as an example: about 9-12 dollars per platter and 3-4 dollars for desserts. About 3 bucks on average for drinks (w/o souveneir cups), and 6.50 for beers.
Hope that helps.

Couple notes on the discounts: I took out both my AAA card and my AP at every register yesterday, and was told in all cases that I could use either, they were the same discount amount. Although at the picture counter at FJ, they couldnt find the code for the AP, so they used my AAA. As a matter of fact, they opted for my AAA card first at most of the counters, Dervish and Banges being the exception. Interestingly enough though, at the picture counter, I had to fill out a receipt with my name, address, phone, etc along with the discount - receipt stated something like "you have received a discount, to process we need the following information". All the other counters just swiped my card and discount was given - no extra paperwork. Dont know why the picture station was different.

But, given my experience, some good news for AP holders who dont also have AAA.

Also remember, some of the merch is available in the main gift shop at the enterance, as well as the main shop in the other park and the UO shop in Citiwalk as of yesterday, and your AP discount definately works on the HP merch there if not in WWoHP.

The only reason I can think of as to why the picture counter may be different is because the picture service provided at Universal is not actually Universal, but one of their third-party partners. I don't know if that has anything to do with the extra paperwork, but that's the only thing I can think of that would make it different...

Get your wand and use "Episky" on them! Hopefully they won't be too bad by the time you go or else maybe being in Hogsmead will take your mind off of them.

Thanks WTR. I've seen 1 pic of the menus so far but it was at an angle where you couldn't see the entree prices.

Colleendoll sorry to hear about your toe hope it heals up a bit before your trip

miaballaa I really don't want to say I know for a fact but it seems if you use any of the big boy seats on others rides you will prob. be out of luck. It really sucks & anyone who even looks like they won't fit will have to sit in the test chair inside the queue (in other words try outside to avoid waiting than be disappointed & this goes for any slightly larger folk even if you think you will be fine) I really hope they get the bigger seats in quick (I doubt before opening) because its sad people who can go on FoTH can't go on FJ

As far as wands go know before you go because the folks in the Owl Post are not completely up on Wand 101 yet so it will make for a quicker trip if you know your wood type

I was thinking that also. Did notice that they had 2 package deals, first one was 30 bucks and 2nd was more expensive, and the do sell just a single print if you ask but its 25 bucks itself.
Definately not offering the 10 dollar picture that all the other UO rides offer for AP holders!

But, first time on ride and dated, so we didnt hesitate to purchase, and Im sure others arent either, so I dont expect the cheap pics for AP holders to show up there for quite a while anyway.

Totally OT, but for those who havent heard, the Main St. Electrical Parade return is "soft"ing this Saturday night at "that other park down the street"...I think we are going to skip another potter visit this weekend and give some other folks a chance to enjoy it.

You serious?!? We are going to Epcot on Saturday, maybe I can talk my family into heading over there after we do Epcot. We are showing up at Epcot at 9 AM, so we will have plenty of time.

On another note, my sister and brother in law made it into Harry Potter today a little before 9 AM. I was really happy for them because they are only down for the week and they don't have a ton of money to come down here very often. He loves the movies and this is the one thing he wanted to do while he was down here. He was disappointed to hear it would not open until after he left, but with his work schedule he didn't have much choice but to come down now.

I want to thank everyone on this board for all the information, I came on here to find out if they would be able to get in when I found out how much a fan he is. So this board helped me to know when to send them out there. So thanks again, you made his week.

Now I can't even find the pic for the Three Broomsticks menu. I know the link was posted here somewhere. If anyone spots it, post the link for me again please.

Yes, we had a couple of guys behind us yesterday that we were talking to, and one of them was afraid he wouldnt fit, and unfortunately was pulled out of the queue into the test seats and turned away. His friend was able to ride, but he wasnt. Felt bad for them because they were both really nice guys.

My daughter and my neice on the other hand, their restraints did not open getting off the ride: the TMs werent paying real close attention and they got quite a way down the unload belt before a TM did a last minute override (and also hit the side of the car like Fonzie hitting a jukebox, lol) and got them out just at the last minute without having to E-Stop.

As far as the wood types on the wands, until someone posts the chart that Owlpost is using, I dont know if its easy to know your type prior to going....as I said earlier the only chart I found on the net that discusses wood types had 32 different ones...owlposts list is only about 13-14 types. And their chart is different anyway: I was listed as Holly (mid-July) by their chart, but by the longer proper chart on the 'net, Holly is for middle of December birthdays (which makes more sense anyway) and I should be Linden. So I still think their chart is made up, and I havent seen anyone post a copy of it yet.

Yes, APs got a notice that it was a "special event" for them that the parade would soft at 9 and 11, with the new fireworks at 10. But the park is open until 10 anyway, so at least the first MSEP is open to the public, and Disney being Disney, they probably wont kick people out before the 2nd one starts (not really feesable to do), so Id say its a go for all park guests.
Grand Opening for the parade return is actually Sun night. (6th)

Hmmmmm.... I am an AP and never got anything. Odd. Was it e-mailed to you? Maybe they don't have my proper e-mail address. I knew grand opening was the 6th, but my family flies out that day, so we couldn't plan it for that day.

Actually my neice is a Disney AP holder and she got the notice via email. My family has "other means" of getting into Disney (wink wink), so I didnt know about it either as nothing has been announced through the internal channels that I have seen yet.
But when I found out about it from her we concreted our plans for Saturday immediately. And my brother is coming into town this week for a visit, and we grew up on the MSEP (and both hate SpectroMagic, lol) , so he doesnt want to miss a chance to see it again either!

I guess no bigger guys/gals who post here have been on FJ yet. Well tomorrow should be the day I know if I am lucky or not. Don't have a good feeling about it though.

If I remember correctly, a memher here who is also a team member, giant, sat in the seat and said its more about your upper chest than your stomach that will determine if you get on or not.
