yeah, at this point Disney would have thought to address the fans
but then again, universal is all about the money at this point, and the more days that go by with no word from the inside the more hype right? I mean we'll all look back on these days and say "I remember when I wanted to kill myself because this thing wouldnt open, thanks Universal!"

They do try and help you as best as they can most of the time in both...
I'm going to bed. Hopefully Universal will announce public soft openings for this Saturday right after the package people do their thing, and I'll be walking through those gates for the first ti- scratch that, for the umpteenth time, except this time, I'm not dreaming.
Hopefully... :(

Sorry... I'm just frustrated with waiting, and i feel like universal doesn't care about there Most frequent Customers, the Customers that probably, spend the most money on them. I just feel a little jipped out.

I agree, but flipping out on them won't accomplish anything, but getting kicked out.

As a AP holder I think Uni could avoid all of this by announcing AP previews. Even if it is June 15th, 16th, & 17th. I understand them waiting because they want FJ ready, but I would think at this point just make it the last three days before the grand opening and be done with it. I would be fine with package holders only getting in at this point, they paid for it, they deserve it. But they need a solution for AP holders, because we do spend a ton of money in their park and we do deserve a preview of our own.

I understand what others are saying, it is not open until the 18th, so why get so angry it is not open for softs yet, softs are not required. I think many of us would be less angry if we knew for sure we were getting our preview. A preview that we have always gotten for everything else and why is this? Because again, we spend a ton of money in that park.

They do? Why? They said it would be open June 18th. Now if for some reason that day comes around and the gates are still closed, then they will deserve.... well, whatever it is that you think they deserve. They haven't broken any promises at this point.

This is totally ridiculous. Like the rest of you, I have been waiting for this to open for years. I was on IOACentral really really late one night in May of 2007 when the press release was posted to UO's media site. I have known about this thing since it was announced (and had information about the possibility of it well before that). That being said, I'm just sitting here waiting for it to happen. I'm not freaking out or threatening to make a scene at the gate. Oh, and let me add that I am a HUGE fan of both UO (AP holder for several years) and HP (read the books, seen the movies, love them all). By building up all of this anticipation, you are only letting yourself down when the place ends up not opening. We have had so many rumored soft opening dates, and none of them have come to fruition. My advice to all of you is to believe no one. When it opens, then you'll know.

Dude chill! The people in the front have no say in if it opens or not...the only date that they are obligated to let the general public in is June 18....don't get all ignorant on people who don't have control over it

The 18th is almost here...everyone take a breath and relax!

Same here, Pat.

Been waiting for this sucker since the old Van Helsing robocoaster ride for LC was scrapped and speculation began for Potter. As for today, i'm still thinking positive.

Actually research has shown that as a group, AP holders spend less than vacationers and regular day visitors.

I hate that chances are really low this Saturday...

It took me hours of emotional talk with my mom to let me go this Saturday.
It took me a whole month to raise enough money to buy my measly power pass.
I've been spending the last now seven months dreaming almost every day about this place.
I've been waiting for three years for this to open.
It really hurts that the next time I'll go is maybe June 16th if there are any soft openings, and God knows when after that.

But like I have been, I'll suck it up and wait if I need to.
Ugh, such a sob story, but guys, it hurts to wait for me, especially because I'm such a huge fan of this amazing series.
*sigh*

You'll have more freedom eventually. And then . . .

. . . and then I don't really have anything else to say. Except, this is an odd instance where living far away from Orlando is actually a good thing. I'm not nearly as obsessed / in pain / I-just-DIED with softs because I can't just waltz on over to the park when I hear about it. I have a set date -- after the grand opening -- and that is when I shall go. So there.

But yeah, I still envy all you Orlando-bound folk incredibly... :[

Hey there, I'm new to here and found this place by doing a google search on info about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

I live in Florida and was wondering if anyone knew any information about Annual passholders being allowed into soft openings? I know they did it for the new "Rock-It" roller coaster, are they doing it with WWoHP and if so, does anyone know when?

Sorry if this is a repeat question...I don't much feel like going through 547 pages of replies... =/
Thanks if anyone can answer me!

It's difficult to keep up with threads that sprout five new pages every 40 seconds, but skimming through, a few points to clear up-

*No soft opening Friday to regular park guests.
*No admittance to the land for anyone but the vacation package breakfast guests.
*No guarantee that those guess will or will not get on Forbidden Journey.
*Walls WILL be put back up after the breakfast. Dueling Dragons (not Dragon Challenge) will open late because of it all.
*No intention for the ride to not run for the duration of the employee preview. New rides have bugs that cause downtimes. Never planned as some sort of training procedure.
*No right for anyone to be upset that something officially announced to open on June 18 is not available on May 28.

Look, at the end of the day, I'm not Universal nor am I in any sense speaking for them. I'm just telling you what I know, specifically so you are not disappointed. I have nothing to hide. I haven't even posted here in over a year and am only doing so to try and help calm some of the frenzy about this. If you plan to go to Islands of Adventure tomorrow, do it for all the OTHER attractions. You will not be getting lucky. I wish you could. I wish I could. Wishes mean nothing here, because it's not happening.

With due respect, everyone needs to chill. What you're doing is creating so much hype for yourselves that no matter how good the ride is, it will fall flat compared to it. Just relax, wait it out, even if there's no soft openings, it's only a few weeks away after waiting THREE YEARS. Don't get yourselves all worked up to ap oint that you'll end up disappointed when it opens. Trust me, it's easier for that to happen than you'd ever imagine. I still won't ride Revenge of the Mummy. Don't sit at a wall all day long three, four, five days a week. There will be NO DOUBT when it is open. It will be all over every twitter feed and facebook status message from here to kingdom come. You'll know when it's unquestionably open, and when it is, hop in the car, drive to the park and KNOW that - barring technical difficulties - you'll ride it. All you're doing otherwise is frustrating yourself and annoying those around you, to be completely blunt.

It's soon. It's really soon. You'll know.

I agree with all of your points, but that would suck if they would actually waste their time putting the walls back up, might as well let people ride DC and FOTH and enjoy the stores and area already even if FJ isn't ready.

Why go through the work when there is going to be a HUGE crowd at the gate dying to get in and spend money.

But ultimately UO has a plan and they will stick to it.

I *believe* - and could be wrong but I'm fairly positive I was told this over the course of time - that there is some sort of contractal agreement to the tune of "all or nothing."

I do agree that it is very unfair that people who paid universal more money through this package deal get to see this thing first. Thats so rediculous. So the really big fans of this kind of thing have to sit back and watch these families with their spoiled kids enjoy something that we have probably been waiting for a lot longer. They really should have made it a priority for their AP holders to see this thing first. When and if they do finally have passholder previews its probably going to feel like a second hand garmet at that point. Universal sucks when it comes to equal oportunities, first with thier express pass and now this, just because the rich folks can dish out more money first, they are the first to see behind the curtain? Damn this sucks, I don't think I'm going to make the trip tomorrow. I'm not going to spend another 3 hours driving and spend $30 on gas again for nothing...

Just a note, all on-site guests pay to have a luxury. The Early Bird HP special is one of these. Another thing, some people actually save their money for years and years to afford these vacations, so no not all these families are "rich with spoiled children".

I've been staying on-site for 10 years now, and trust me just because you're on-site doesn't make you rich, spoiled, or any less of a fan than a person with an Annual Pass. It's Universal's fault for promising people the May 28th date with these packages so they are sticking to their word. I bet if you were one of those people that bought a package you'd be upset you wouldn't get to experience it. So put yourself in these people's shoes. It's not because they are "rich" but because they bought something that was promised with the money they spent and Universal is doing their best to honor their promise of this package.

If I take that as read....it may be a while before FJ is ready for a full day operation.....

Annual Passholders

Instead of complaining on here to each other, pass holders should politely make it known to the park our concerns about being let in. I've already emailed twice today (I posted my email below) and I am going to call in the morning. I think if they are aware of our concerns, they will come up with a suitable solution.

Hi,

I've been a annual pass holder for a while and I have a small concern I wanted to bring to your attention. I know the Harry Potter vacation package holders are being allowed into the park at 8am for previews. Being an annual pass holder that lives only 10 minutes away there is no need for me to have a vacation package. My question is how do I get into the preview area in the morning. I'm sure you will be accommodating to me. I spend at least a couple days in the parks every month, spend lots of money on food and merchandise, bring out of town friends into the park a couple times a year (8 the other day which cost me almost $700 plus meals) etc. Also when I signed up for my annual pass I was led to believe I would have access to previews and special events as you have done in the past.. With the thousands of dollars I spend at your parks every year I'm sure getting me access to the area shouldn't be a problem. I think it's only fair to let the people who spend the most money and time at Universal Orlando special access along with these package holders. Especially with all the competition in the Orlando who I could just as easily give my business too. Thanks for listening to my concerns. I'll be awaiting a quick reply with instructions on how to access the new attractions.
