How much profit you think they make off of each one?

That was my first thought too, 1 million Butterbeers is probably quite a lot of profit! And that's just one drink...

Just some thinking chair figuring here...

Most fountain soft drinks cost 30 cents or less to produce. There is a reason why at Gas Stations you can get those fountain soft drinks very cheap...and that is when the gas station still has to pay the companies that supply the soft drinks' syrup. Universal brews Butterbeer in house.

So between 2 and 3 dollars off of each one is likely the answer...that is including the cup.

So between 2 and 3 million dollars profit is easily possible since a lot of them are refills, but a lot of them are also big money from the souvinier cups.

If anything. They just paid off their cost of Superbowl Advertising right there.

And this is a conservative estimate in my opinion, there is a possiblity they are making more

From Inside The Magic's twitter, they shared a link to a blog with someone who had a bad experience at the Wizarding World.

Thoughts?

Would they let you get as much buterbeer as you want?

That would be cool to try it as much as you can until you are butterbeered to the max...

Should have got there earlier and they wouldn't have ran into the issue. Boohoo. Sorry. I don't have any sympathy for them and their whining ways.

They weren't even aware that Express Passes are essentially useless when it comes to the wait to get into WWoHP and FJ.

The guy visited the biggest investment in the last 20 years of theme parks and was upset because he had a long wait the busiest time of year?

Universal gave the family the convinience of a reserved wait time to be able to just come back later instead of wait there all day.

Also the prices are comparable for Disney and Universal parks so that part about it making it seem like they paid a huge amount of money is their own fault. They bought a ticket that allowed them to visit both Universal parks in one day instead of just one.

This article was horribly written. If the author said 'grandbabies' one more time I was ready to discontinue reading.

The article was just a load of slant.

I've got very little sympathy for them. You always should do research before traveling anywhere. If you didn't do the basic research to realize that December is a busy month for travel, that's completely your fault. If you got into the island at 5:30 and FJ only had a 90 min wait, what was stopping them from waiting a little longer.

The comments for that blog need to be approved by the blog owner before they're posted so I doubt you'll see any debate on there which is a shame in itself. Stupid Pooks.

If you don't do your research before you travel, you can't really complain. He complains about the price he paid but only seems to have visited one park

They know full well the wait-time problem in their parks, especially at their Harry Potter location. They advertise quite openly that "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" is included with park admission. Yet they must be aware that to actually taste the glory of their new theme area requires someone to wait on lines for upwards of 5 hours...

I don't see what he expects Universal to do about this.

To his defense, the "capacity to size" ratio for the island is pretty small so crowds can be quite hellish, as many of you are already aware.

But I agree, Universal can only do so much with crowd control and waits. It's the travellers responsibilty to make sure he is prepared accordingly. You have to some idea that Potter, especially during one of the busiest travelling times, was going to be absurd. It's not Universal's fault that this guy decided to esentially wing it.

I agree. If you don't end up planning, or at least being somewhat prepared for the visit... you'll be screwed. Granted, It's WWoHP's first holiday... but it's also one of the busiest time periods of the year aside from Summer, and it was closed for most of that too.

Totally agree this is an example of someone walking into the situation blind! First off theres no way they were waiting 60 mins for rides if they had express passes if they did i will be VERY shocked i go in August peak time and still only waited max 20 mins which was for the Hulk. Even though i went in August i did so much research about what everyone on here and other forums had said about there experiences and we did everything in the area went in all the shops on two seperate days!
I don't think they have much room to complain when they clearly just shedded out a ton of money to go with no idea at all about the park or the express passes!

Wow, he quickly mentions that Disney had long lines, but they had a "reservation" system. To part he skipped is that was the same thing Uni did for him and WWoHP. While he waited for his fast pass time, I'm sure he had to wait in long lines to ride other rides. Is that so different than what he did at IOA?

I don't understand people, its ok to wait in lines at Disney, but its not OK at Uni? Please, people need to grow a pair and wake up.

OMG!!! And he says that Uni only cares about the money that all of their rides exit into a gift shop.. DISNEY INVENTED THAT IDEA YOU MORON!!

I'm writing this guy a comment.

I agree with you completely. People who are supposed to be huge theme park fans should know better than a huge new attraction that is themed after an even bigger book is going to be crowded. Disney is very often crowded and at least the Harry potter line is constantly moving and is actually pretty fun once you get insid the castle.

Yeap and he complained about the lines, yet he waited all day to get in the area, and once he was there he left?! C'mon dude, grow up and stop complaining and try to enjoy yourself.
