According to TM's, it can't operate under 45 F, & a certain wind speed

It reopened about 30 minutes ago. It's all about the current weather conditions. And I too hope it will be open this weekend.

I'm glad that JK declined it though what Disney was gonna do would have ruined the series.

No one can ever say this. We have no idea what was planned. Really isn't fair to chastise Disney over something that is unknown.

But the guy who wrote it definitely isn't that much of a theme park enthusiast. While Disney is number one, they aren't that far ahead.

Yes they are. Most predictions have IOA at #5 or #6 on Attendance for 2010. The rest of the top 5 belongs to Disney. The exception is Animal Kingdom. IOA could be the first Orlando park to beat another Disney park in attendance. Definitely something to be proud of, but they are still far off.

You know what, that's a really good point I forgot of. Uni should build some more hotels (maybe as their expansion to Harry potter they could make one themed around hogwarts). They need at least 2 more big hotels and I'm not even sure if they have bus transpiration like Disney does which should be the next step. With the success of hp they should be getting quite a bit of extra cash.

Universal does in fact have bus service from the hotels to CityWalk, and no, no, no, JKR will never let them build a Hogwarts hotel. It's bad enough that Muggles are allowed in for a tour, let alone stay there over night. And as previously mentioned, there is already a Hogwarts on site. It would make no sense to have another.

Plus, they have not enough room for such an expansion. All the land they have left will be going to apartments and 1 more hotel.

Actually, they did have plans to what The Harry potter ride was gonna be like. It was going to be like buzz lightyear (a shooter) which sounds much worse than what universal did. Since JK declined Disney, they were trying to figure out what shooter they should do so with toy story 3 coming out, they made it modeled after toy story 3.

And Disney's attendance might still be ahead, it still went down a little while uni went up 36% and beat one of their parks (which I agree is something to be proud of). The facts show that uni is getting more people (which I hope will eventually allow them to get another park) and Disney has lost some. While not many, they still lost.

Damon, unless we work for WDI or JKR we have no way of substantiating what is fact and what is rumor. But where there is smoke there is fire, so it is all possible that the wand shooter ride was the proposal made to JKR, and they rehashed it into TSM, but anything is possible. For all we know they pitched a revolutionary technology called an Omnimover to JKR.

Yeah that's 3 out of how many rides do they have? And your telling me that thrill seekers could just ride 3 rides all day long? Yeah that's always fun. And the rides don't even have to be for thrill seekers. That's why I like hp. It's something thrilling, yet just about everyone can do it.

Those were the first 3 I could think of off the top of my head. I didn't even mention Mission:Space, Test Track, Hall of Presidents (too boring for toddlers, and personally, I think its a cool attraction), Space Mt (Not exactly thrill but not for toddlers either, BTMR (same as SM), Alien Encounter (Even as Stitch it's freaky), and Tough to be a Bug(C'mon, who wasn't freaked out by that as a kid?). Not a lot, but not exactly "always toddler friendly."

Hall of presidents... I definitely wouldn't call it cool but Its a time passer XD.I've sen little kids do test track (not all kids would like it but quite a few have) same with space mountain, they made a more mild version of mission space so yeah kids can ride it, while tough to be. Bug was extremely scary the first time I went on it (I hate bug with a passion) there were many other kids who loved it. I'm not saying Disney needs thrill rides, but some really good dark rides would be great. They are beautiful, creative, and can be very thrilling.

We know they most likely at least beat DCA...

I don't think they are gonna top AK with 2010's attendance. That would not line up with the 36 percent rise for IOA..if the attendance hike was only IOA and not as a resort. I still can't get confirmation on that but some articles only mention IOA so I would go with that. That would sitll put them about 2 million under AK.

The thing is, it is still amazing considering that 2010 was not a full year with Potter. With 2011 being the first full year and the people who wanting to go but could not be for worldwide will be a steady constant. 2011 could be the year that IOA gets on the list above AK.

The biggest jump for the investment cost in theme park history. I bet we will see both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure take rise from all of this. Anytime that one business can take a big growth spirt like that to their entire resort and guest spending while the others (even though higher attendance) remain semi flat...shows who the better performing business was.

Tony Hawk visited the Wizarding World on Monday. From his Twitter:
I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan, but Universal's Wizarding World is amazing. Forbidden Journey is a must-see.

You know, now that IOA has come out with Harry, I expect great things from them in the future
