Its a good start but a few points. Not trying to nit pick by any means just trying to give you some pointers. Did you use a tripod for this shot?

1. Composition - the one thing that takes away form the photo is that post on the left hand side, just something to think about next time you line up a shot. Also might want to crop it to straighten it up a little since its leaning to the left a little.I would even back up a little bit to get more in the frame.

2. Aperture - fireworks are tough because of the bright bursts so you would want to start shooting in an aperture around f/11-14 to help with those highlights.

Again just some friendly tips, believe me, I am by no means a pro and always am learning new things and getting positive feedback from other photographers helped me out a ton while I was getting the hang of things. Just get out there and practice and things will fall into place.

Thanks for the feed back! Yea, it sucks that that post is in the picture. Ill remember to mess with the aperture next time and ill tell you how they come out!

Those are all outstanding  You did better than I did with the parade, that's for sure lol.

Cheers dude :)

It's amazing how the tiniest nudge pressing the shutter button, or breathing can affect the photo!

We're at Vegas then DLR in 6 weeks so going to play with night time photography some more!
