Wow! I was not expecting this. As a fan of this ride, this is the update I've always wanted. I'm glad the priority is on the gameplay and building on the theming that's already there. Tokyo's version just closed, so I wonder if anything is being shipped over?

It's good they're at least bringing the tech into the 21st century, but I really wish they had decided to invest some more money for a new attraction.

I doubt they're putting anything there for a long time. The space is too small and not enough queue space for something decent. Maybe another photo op location, but MK already has enough of those. I think it's been used for employees the last few years too

Oh there is, but we all know the right answer for what that space should be used for. They just don’t have the guts to do it again.

In favor of combining Stitch, Cosmic Rays, and the other food locations here into a massive indoor space for relaxation purposes. Kind of like Connection Eatery with massive open halls and plenty of seating.

I'd rather they work on getting rid of the speedway in favor of a new attraction there.

So this comes from Moth, who runs the Rumor Tracker over on WDWMagic, and they've just shared some interesting details they've heard:

• Laugh Floor potentially on the chopping block for after Monstropolis opens.
  
  
• Space Ranger Spin is being eyed for a retheme.
  
  
• Assuming Romulus doesn't bomb, a familiar Alien might begin terrorizing Tomorrowland's theater-in-the-round.
  
  
• Speedway is now on the chopping block due to Cars.

Every night I hold my Xenomorph plush and pray this rumor was true. I pray, I kneel, I grovel. I pray it's true.


The Space Ranger plans kinda turned into what you saw today. Sorta. Mostly WiR being eyed til they decided to keep Buzz. I don't think it was ever too serious.

I just need the Xenomorph Encounter like I need water.


Very excited over the Buzz redo though. I think it's better to have Buzz remain in TL where he fits than put in WiR where it's not as a clean fit. Especially excited for the new blasters.

A shame that the whole "Scrap Buzz + Laugh Floor for an expansive new dark ride" timeline didn't happen, but this is an alright alternative. Should make the ride much nicer, even if the cheaper card-board cutout theming remains.

IMO MiB will still be the far superior Sci-Fi shooter dark ride, and Toy Story Mania will still be the far superior Toy Story shooter dark ride. Space Ranger Spin stays losing.

Yeah not a fan of Buzz, but it's popular so I'm ok with it getting a decent refurbishment instead of it sitting there. I am worried though that they will be severely limited creatively if they end up replacing MILF.

I think the format of MILF is fine for an attraction. Replace Mike with like... Bender? Baymax? MILF isn't exactly "broke", I'd just prefer something that fits in more than Monsters does with Tomorrowland.

Honestly I'm just really excited for the blaster upgrades.

The timeline where we get Bender drunkenly shouting vulgarities at Magic Kingdom families, as the very first attraction you see walking into Tomorrowland ... well, I'd pay to see that D23 announcement.
