I already posted about this a few days ago, but put it in the Citywalk thread. Forgot Toothsome had it's own thread.

Any indications they're going to do this in the Florida location, too?

The pre-packaged chocolates and other candy make easy, visually-appealing gifts to bring people back home.

Not necessarily. Presumably, they pulled the merch because it wasn't doing as well as it did in Orlando. As long as it continues to sell over there, I don't see it going away.

Funny story.... because of the sales, we did snag some Toothsome shirts. My husband wore one into the park yesterday, and a team member in the park thought he worked there. She was also shocked to hear the store portion there essentially closed... she clearly had no idea.

Has anyone checked out the "bar menu"?

I'm curious if they have themed cocktails. With the current headache in operations for HHN, maybe I'll stop by tomorrow & grab a menu pic if I get to the park before 7pm

Yeah, I seem to recall them having a handful of themed drinks, though I couldn’t tell you if the offerings are any different than when you dine in. We just had beer, so I can’t speak to the cocktail goodness or badness, either haha.

Had a chocolate old fashioned. Pretty darn good (I’ll update the sub… I’ll drink the menu eventually… one a week or month lol)

Updating this post I went back and got a root beer old fashioned this time, not bad, it’s more vanilla than anything.

So far chocolate old fashioned is my favorite

I did the lord's work...

1000025316.jpg

This is "bar exclusive"
1000025315.jpg

So the current bar is actually just a temporary "semi-permanent" thing. They will be closing in a few weeks for a FULL LARGER PERMANENT bar installation. They plan to have it open by the 1st or 2nd week of December for the holiday season.

I also gave them the idea to do a Grinchmas & Potter themed holiday cocktail lol

Brisket sliders with chocolate bacon were pretty bomb. Way better than the original recipe with pork belly

Question - did Orlando's Toothsome decrease in quality? After today I think I'm done with this place. It was very disappointing and will never hit the satisfaction and delicacy that the soft/ opening month had. Had a simple Caesar salad today that barely any dressing on it, the menu has gotten rid of SO many items (R.I.P. risotto and crab artichoke dip!!!) and I felt really bad for our server waiting the ENTIRE dining room. Shout out to her, man. The saving grace of my lunch was the fried cauliflower appetizers. That had such good flavor and perfect seasoning.

Just a terrible fall off. Hard Rock leaving might've never been worth it. I really wish Hollywood was able to translate the success that orlando's toothsome had.

I haven't been in a while, myself... but it has been disappointing to see the menu shrink so, so much. I get that a large menu isn't great either (looking at you, Cheesecake Factory) because it can spread the kitchen too thin. But it they may have shrunk it a bit too much.

Plus, I feel like I rarely see the characters around anymore. I think someone said they only appear on weekends now?

It'll be interesting to see if the bar revitalizes the place a bit. And the milkshakes are still pretty good.

I do have to disagree Hard Rock would be better, though. Bleh.

Even opening month I was never impressed with the toothsome here. Food was mediocre, overpriced, and portions were way too small. Haven’t been back since that first visit and unfortunately it’s getting worse.

Is toothsome at Orlando really any good or is it that the travelers/hotel guests have no other choice? I think another problem USH has like DLR is that it’s a locals park and people will simply get food before they head over or when they leave the park. Which is why you always see CityWalk and Downtown Disney restaurants struggling.
