I also think this house would benefit from giving the triplets some kind of motivation. Why are they doing this? Are they evil incarnate? Did their parents revoke their ice cream privileges? Did they get hopped up on Mr. Sweets Murder-Tarts?

In the HHN 33 podcast, they mentioned that the Triplets are very much evil personified, and had no reason to kill their family, which is meant to add onto the horror of it (and IMO, is quite effective).

I think the beginning of the house does that quite well, the mom crying "Why are you doing this?" and Melody just giggling and immediately slitting her throat.

This just comes off as cliche. It's such a tired trope too. Being "evil" isn't a good selling point. And the "why are you doing this?" is so overused that it doesn’t hold much weight.

Also, 2008's Skoolhouse SZ called, it wants their "Bunny Girl" mask back.

Got 2 runs of this last night. It was fun but definitely felt short. Gore definitely didn't live up to the hype for me at least lol

I liked this house way more than I thought I would. I loved the backstory throughout the house so you knew what was going on.

I LOVED that there was an opening scene and then the podcast hallway that gave the backstory. Very creative way to design the house in my opinion.

I 100% agree. This was my major issue with the house.

The podcast angle is incredibly ambitious, and I give the team props for trying it out.

A part of me wants to believe the butcher shop is Meetz Meats because the strobe room reminds me of the meat room from Cleaver. However, it could just be a case of the team reusing scenes.

That wasn't a hardware store, that was the Man-Cave for the dude getting attacked with the saw. And I wouldn't put much though into the connection of the places they were hitting up. The key thing is the Triplets are going through the neighborhood gathering victims to set the birthday party table at the end. Complete with three cakes, a body for pin the tail on the donkey, and a head stuffed with candy to act as the pinata.

The scares take too long to reset and are poorly laid out. This house could be an all-timer in a tent and allowing the actors free reign. I very much agree with everyone who is perplexed by the early rumors of sprawling suburban sets on par with Bloodmoon. I want to love this house so much. But like many HHN houses of recent years, you have to rubberneck to catch poorly laid out scareactors (looking at you Icons Captured).

Our trip is done, and this ended up at 8th on my ranking. I was very excited to see this one, but I was definitely let down a bit. I went in expecting the sprawling sets, and a LOT more gore.

Above all though, this just felt SO short. I'd be curious to know if this is up there with the shortest houses they've done.

This house has the same problem as monsters this year. The actors are tied to their trigger and having to act out the vignette instead of actually scaring. Couple that with most of them come out from too far away to effectively scare. I agree this would have been better in a tent with the actors given more freedom to hunt versus posing. It's the same problem I had with halloween and TCSM in the soundstages where it's just too much space and it loses its effectiveness.

I do completely agree with a lot of the scares in this house being weirdly too far out, but yesterday especially I noticed significant improvement with a lot of the scareactors now fully lunging out with some 'near misses'.
