Everyone here should start the trend of running over and hugging some of the wavers; hug them like you mean it.

Haha! Which is your favorite? Disney's "Mickey hands" good-bye or Universal's "ride variety" good-bye?

There's slightly more emotional attachment to Disney so that goodbye is more effective, but the "ride variety" idea is better.

Disney will never have the "ride variety" as they will not mix the themeing of the lands together (we all know the story of why the utilidors where put into place in the Magic Kingdom) :)

A little background info from "Universal News - Special Addition - June 11, 2012"

Port of Entry

The Port of Entry team recently introduced guest “Hellos” in addition to “Goodbyes.” Each morning, Port of Entry comes together to welcome our guests to the park. A line of Team Members forms outside the turnstiles with a Guest Services Coordinator and Events Attendants. After entering the turnstiles, guests are greeted by even more Team Members. The Port of Entry TEAM partnered with Entertainment to include an additional presence during the “Hellos.”

I get kind of irrationally emotional when the Disney CMs wave goodbye as we're leaving (which you witnessed at Disney Media Day, Johnny), but I've never seen the goodbye lineup at IoA. Which is probably for the best, considering.

Haha yes, I remember! Looking forward to witnessing your reaction at IOA, too.

I've definitely seen it at both parks. The other day they had a special goodbyes in the WWoHP with TMs from all the venues standing by the train with the Conductor essentially doing the same thing but staying within the wizarding world.

I remember seeing the wavers back in 2008 at IOA. It's definitely a very nice and warm feeling!

What struck me when we saw this at the studios was that the employees where all saying "thanks for coming" as it just seemed to add such a personal touch to close out a wonderful day.
