The second level of that pink building on the right is where I had the pre-tour presentation for an Unmasking the Horror tour. But that was back in 2010, so I'm not sure what's up with it now-a-days...

They still use it for the Unmasking the Horror tours and VIP tours. I do the UTH Tour every year and that's where everyone gathers and gets their badges, flashlights, etc. It's also home to some of the nicest bathrooms on property. ;)

Don't see anything wrong with the entrance to Universal. It still looks great!

Maybe a touch of paint but it's fine.

That's great to know, and thank you too Felipe for the info. I wonder with such a small footprint, how do you design the entrance?

If anyone goes to USF really soon, take some pictures of the area to the right when you go through the USF arch. I know when you pass through the gate, there is a path next to the photo store that leads you to a bathroom and an entry to Hollywood. (If you want to be the first one in Springfield on opening day, there you go.)

I wonder if they still use the second level of the pink buildings for events anymore? I should ask the same for the Navigator's club in IOA.

Also in the right side area of the entrance is the old VIP drop off and a gate. Would appreciate pictures!

I walked up to the navigators club today, while trying to access the bridge and the doors where locked and it looked like they were set up or doing something in there.

My experiences with VIP tours have started us out in IOA in a building to the right of the main entrance, not in USF.

The Navigators Club is still used for events as I was recently at one :)

And the old VIP drop off is currently used for Grad Bash, but I'm not sure what else. You can see it by going to the Group Sales Desk around the corner of the buildings to the right of the USF main entrance.

What about the RIP tours during HHN's? I've seen people coming down the stairs just can't remember when

I just recently noticed that the trees in front of Shrek were different.
What happened to the old cube-shaped trees?
Also the main Production Central street wouldn't be as bad if it didn't look so much like a stroller showroom.

Haven't heard this. Perhaps they were damaged during the last harsh storm?

You're correct. I did an RIP Tour and we were in one of the pink buildings before the tour began. It was neat to be on the second floor and looking out over the streets of Production Central as all of the people poured in the park.

There is a differance between the entrance to USF from the arch to the gates and from the gates into the park. Yes, I agree that they did set the stage well as far as the walk from arch to gates, but this is not where paying customers enter the park which I think matters. From gates to park there is nothing to make you feel that classic movie production studios, nastalgia type feeling. At least not for me. This is what I'm talking about in terms of an overhaul.

I'm right with you there. The archway looks cool, but once you pass the turnstiles it's just so lacking.

Bump, with Kong coming back for 2015 and that year being the 25th anniversary and USF 2.0 basically complete, it would be nice if the entrance gets some love and the library facade is rehabbed or replaced with something else.

If they did that... the entire park would be completely different except for Hollywood from 2012!! Only 3 years and the park will look brand new - I'd love to see a brand new entrance plaza ready for Spring 2015: USF's 25th :)

Well, USH's new Universal Plaza was unveiled today. Hopefully something similar is in USF's future.

Inside Universal got pictures:

What in hell is that supposed to be based on historically? While it may be more impressive at night, in the daylight, it is grossly monochromatic.

And a little too reminiscent of the also-new California-themed park entrance down the road in Anaheim...
