There's a giant water fountain in the middle of the park. A cherry coke option would be nice. Just watch out for that first sip.

Tangentially speaking, wonder how long it will take for someone to get arrested for running through that fountain.

As someone who uses the forward facing camera to check my makeup and hair randomly I would’ve taken the tape.

I wore an outfit without pockets, so the extra time it took to take the phone out of my bag would remind me to not take a pic lol

How is it being brought up? Went through the gates today and it wasn't mentioned.

It really is hard to not take your phone out— so many things I wanted to take pictures of. And when you are ordering food through the app you have to take it out.

I only saw one person who was doing a video call in one of the alleys of Potter. It didn’t look like she was necessarily trying to show anyone anything, just a clueless person who was oblivious (as so many people who walk around on their phones in public do).

This reminded me of another question: the park isn't mobile-order-only, is it?

No. You can order and pay. But is seems strongly discouraged. And when I did, because the app wouldn't link my card, my order got lost. They fixed it, no problem.

It’s preferred and is generally working well from what we saw.

Well, that's certainly better than not allowing it at all, but I hope they're not obnoxious about pushing people towards mobile.

Universal should be happy to take our money in whichever form we choose.

I love using mobile order at the disney parks, so if a heavier implementation leads to a less crummy app experience at universal, i’m all for it.

I love using it at WDW, at least I know they have my mobile order unlike several times at UOR

I also think from an operational standpoint, having the guest pick up the food at the counter is far more efficient than relying on TMs having to transport food to each individual table.

I wonder if the more adventurous Epic menus will pose a problem as well. Maybe I just travel with picky eaters but I spent one of the days watching people in my group pick out peppers and mushrooms and scrape off cheese because the mobile app doesn't allow modifications; perhaps that's just a consequence of the hyper-optimization of modern day operations. Obviously not as big of a deal at normal burger/tender/pizza QSR's, but does feel a little strange at the Astropub or at the Oak & Tavern.

It could definitely use improvement from a guest facing area. Disney gives you the option to customize your order and their current allergy menu is fantastic. For allergies at UOR, you have to select a separate option and then wait for a TM to personally arrive at the table to let them know about it. At Disney, they have a separate mobile order menu with options for several common allergies that's easy to understand and pick from.

There absolutely needs to be the ability to customize mobile orders if they want this system to take off. I've had issues with this in certain situations in Disneyland too. Needs to be standard across the board.

Hershey Park had these complimentary water refill stations throughout that operate with signage to clarify it was free (and that guests should take advantage of).

If Hershey can, UOR & WDW can certainly do it.

As a local of Hersheypark (passholder living 20 mins away), I have literally never seen these complimentary water refill stations lol. I would assume they might be brought out on BRUTALLY hot days, but it is absolutely not a normal day-to-day thing.

I've always found the lack of customization strange - especially because it IS available in some locations. (Fast Food Boulevard in particular)

Regarding Hershey, I visited about 2 years ago and their Coke stands (the ones with the refill stations) were advertising "Complimentary Cups of Water" on my visit along with a Advisory for heat throughout the park. Could have been lucky and that was the 1 day they ran such a thing lol

lol

Yeah I've never seen the complimentary cups there, so you must have been there on an incredibly hot day! (I don't think people realize how hot it can get here in PA!)

I think this is totally fair, I just hope they have alternative ordering options (or don't strongly suggest mobile) if they don't have it together yet. Been burned by Universal Mobile Order before and would rather not use it until it's easier/more reliable.
