Because it's popular and he can't stand it.
No, I am legitimately asking that; because that we all have different opinions and different thought processes.
To me, you have to consider a few things.
Nintendo, is a worldwide brand; that has created multiple iconic franchises, some of them even being featured prominently for the Orlando rendition of Super Nintendo World (Mario, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi). There is a reason to why Mario is a mascot of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and that is brand notoriety.
Zelda and Pokemon, are similar in that regard.
While Zelda hasn't had as large of a push, it has been just as iconic of bringing a core franchise in Nintendo's roster, and is in the main three, Mario; Zelda; and Pokemon.
And what about Pokemon? Well, to be quite quaint, we wouldn't have things like Digimon, Yugioh, or Yo Kai Watch, if it wasn't for the success of Pokemon.
Pokemon, quite literally; created a different genre of gaming in a way, that has a high popularity on multiple levels. Where if it'd be the games, the anime, or even the merch; people can identify Pikachu in a second notice.
There is a lot of potential on many levels with Nintendo, and particularly those two IPs; that can not be ignored. And that, having them as apart of your next big theme park will be beneficial on the long haul, for not just merchandise reasons; but that there are multiple ways you can do attractions for them, and even lands.
Just my take on it. I am not trying to be facetious, or coy; but that I am trying to give my response to everything said by Luke, and Mike. And that I don't think digging into eachother is a good thing.
