How many times has Universal worked with Dynamic Attractions? Or have they?

I wonder if Universal Creative will take events and effects like this under consideration when building their next water-park. I know it was supposed to be like this at VB, but the park closes at nine most of the time. Would be nice to have a night water-park.

I am going to throw out, that the main goal of a second waterpark will be to not only future-proof it, but to improve the aspects of Volcano Bay that failed to work, while also expanding upon the vision seen in things like TapuTapu and Virtual Queues for more immersive experiences.

I also think, they'd be wise to take on the approach similar to Yas Waterworld, improving the theming and design of waterslides for creative and safe attractions with theming throughout the structures.

I also think, they'll try to connect it better with the rest of the new resort, but who knows.

Personally, I don't think they go with the virtual queue (Tapu-Tapu) unless it's also featured at the theme park. It would make sense for them to keep Volcano Bay as the premier water-park (like Blizzard Beach) and build a second, lesser water-park (Typhoon Lagoon).

I also think that this park will be more Aquatica/Typhoon Lagoon than Blizzard Beach/Volcano Bay if the water-park opens up within a year after the theme park. Most of the budget will go to the resorts, theme park, and entertainment district. The water-park will still have great theming, but it would be more grounded and less over-the-top like Volcano Bay is.

Making more than the Harry Potter universe, Hello Kitty comes in third with an estimated revenue over $41 billion. Fist of the North Star knocks in at 11 before Gundam flies in at 15. Neon Genesis Evangelion lands 17 with a staggering $14.9 billion before Yu-Gi-Oh and Dragon Ball fall in line.

So Universal has theme parks rights for currently 8 to potentially 9/10 of the 25 top grossing media franchises. (Ironically despite what this thread says about anime so many top grossing media franchises are anime/japan based)

However, they are barely being utilized....

On the basis of stats Universal needs to build up this new park with Hello Kitty, Pokemon, Mario, Middle Earth, whilst expanding Marvel Superhero Island in addition to Potter.

Zelda and others can go to the other plots but it seems these are the real money makers.

Turkish Delight is the top grossing movie in the Netherlands. This 1973 Paul Verhoeven movie with Rutgher Hauer as a lead could be described as a softcore porn/cancer movie. It was shocking at the time and probably still is for an American audience. Although it also is an art-house hit worldwide and made a ton of money in my country, it would be a disturbing theme park attraction. Although maybe in the Efteling this would fit well due to the fact no fairy-tales are sugarcoated and often don't end well.

My point is that anime in the non Asian market is still very much niche. Even when that nice group buys a ton of crap it still won't be considered a pull for the general public.

How to win when building the new water-park:

• Park structure similar to that of Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon. One of the major downsides about Volcano Bay is the fact that the slides are really spread out, leading to a lot a walking and people getting confused/lost. Have most of the slides in a close proximity with each other, with a slide complex (or two) outside the main area.
• Theming similar to Volcano Bay, but with Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon inspiration. Another major downside about Volcano Bay is the fact that, outside of Krakatou, none of the theming is visible while riding the slides. That needs to change here. You have a ton of space now, so use it.
• Ride thrill levels/variety similar to Aquatica. A lot of the rides at Volcano Bay are thrill based, so not a lot of children can ride them. Aquatica, on the other hand, has a lot of family-friendly slides (all of their tube slides, the racing mats, and the family raft ride). Take that under consideration. Also, all of Aquatica's slides are unique when compared to the rest of the park. Ray Rush isn't like anything else there, same for Ihu's, etc.
• Food, merchandise, interactivity, and technology similar to Volcano Bay. Change nothing, VB is on another level when it comes to these items. Replicate them and you'll be fine.
• Stay away from the major highways and landmarks around Universal land. Having the park close to the entertainment district is fine, but keep it away from everything else. It sucks to see I4 from around Volcano Bay, and it shouldn't happen here. Let me repeat myself: You have a ton of space now, so use it.
• Lastly, make sure to keep the water-park close to the other resort landmarks this time. Get rid of the stupid transportation system, and make it easier for the guests to move between the hotels, theme park, entertainment district, and water-park.

Agree with most points. I think the new water park (whenever it happens) will have a more family approach towards the overall experience with maybe a 3-4 thrill slides. I also think, this time, Uni will have a plot saved for a new water park somewhere in the resort where it can work.

I like how VB is layed out personally...I think the intention was to make the main entrance void of giant slides so as not to ruin the grand reveal of the Krakatau...

Contrary to other's opinions, I like how colorful the slides are as well

Sure, but they could, at least, have a couple of major slide complex groupings. The only one they have at VB is the Krakatou, Punga, and Taniwua Tubes combo.

I like how VB is layed out personally...I think the intention was to make the main entrance void of giant slides so as not to ruin the grand reveal of the Krakatau...

They didn’t have to have all the slides behind Krakatou, they could have put them somewhere else.

Also, I think that this park will have a lot of the blue-sky ideas from the permits and stuff. The weird slide-changing technology, the glowing sand, etc. It’s possible that we could see some themed slides (like the projection effects you mentioned) and an action river with connecting slides as well.

Just to give a breakdown on what the slide count/content should be (this is a blue-sky thread, after all):

1. Six single/double tube slides, with no special elements involved. They would be grouped in pairs, with each pair sharing the same layout. Look at Aquatica's Whanau Way for an example as to what I'm talking about here.
2. Six body slides, following the same group pairing as I described above. This could use the slide moving/adjusting technology that Universal filed a permit for a while back, which allows the riders to select slide paths.
3. Four open-circuit water coasters (Crush 'n' Gusher is open-circuit, Krakatou Aqua Coaster is not) that are between Crush and Krakatou on the thrill-level scale. Each has a different layout.
4. One thrilling raft slide, which has multiple different elements.
5. Three family raft slides, each has a different path. Only one slide would have a special element.
6. Six racing mat-slides, following the group pairing system that I described above. Think of it as an expanded version of Punga Racers
7. Four drop-capsule slides that vary on the thrill-level scale. Each has a different layout. One slide is a straight free-fall, similar to Ko'okiri. The rest are similar to Kala and Tai Nui.

Just to bring this up for possibility, it seems that Premier and Dynamic Attractions are collaborating on a Next-Gen iteration of the Robocoaster, which will be installed first at Wanda in China.
