I just am not expecting them to build a huge coaster that goes over guest areas that will require metal detectors ever again.

Thank god. The dream of a TDS level park still lives.

I do wonder if they decide to go down that route ever again, how they will incorporate the metal detectors into the design of the queue. If it was a Sci-Fi area, it could be themed to a space port with their own version of TSA.

On the coaster front, I can't see them going for a flying coaster with Manta just down the road. I'd expect any big coaster going in here to be unique to Orlando. For a big steel, I'd like to see a wing coaster for the sake of variety and I'd be over the moon to see an RMC coaster. Where these go in relation to the themed lands people think could go into the park is anybody's guess.

A wing coaster themed to Sci-Fi city and an RMC with a Monsters theme sound pretty good to me though.

Yeah, then it would still leave IOA open for regularly ticketed guests. With the new park seemingly targeted at a more family oriented demographic, it would seem to be a missed opportunity not to do something similar to MNSSHP.

I'm sure someone else has brought this up, but does anyone else think they might build the new park in a more event-friendly way, for HHN and the like?

Absolutely. I think the new park is going to try and fix a lot of problems that have plagued both parks at the current resort. Too many screens at USF by bringing a ton of practical rides and a good selection of indoor rides that IOA is missing.

There also seems to be a wave of popular add on experiences and seasonal events that this park should be able to cater too.

I don’t get why everyone says this has to go over guest pathways? They could easily put it outside the main area/courtyard.

Also, we aren’t getting a Sci-Fi area. There’s no valuable/relevant (lookin at you, BSG) IP’s to put there without Star Trek, Godzilla, or any properties owned by outside companies.

Those IPs could all have special themed areas to themselves within the general "Sci-Fi' area...I love the idea of Universal's version of tomorrowland

As Skip mentioned, Creature would be a good bet.

Jekyll/Hyde, could be plausible; but I would imagine they'd want the big ones as the primary. However..

I think Phantom gets a presence over Invisible; especially when you consider the importance of him in particular for the CM's legacy.

The Phantom definitely deserves a presence in the Classic Monsters land.. maybe if there's a show venue, it's themed after the Paris Opera House?

Food festivals I get (tho really will depend on the themes of the worlds), but I can't imagine any park being better for a youth-skewing Halloween event than the one with the Grinch, Hogsmeade and super-heroes. Maybe the new park frees IoA up to do a complimentary hard-ticket event to HHN?

Maybe they want to build an original land with no IP attached?

I believe multiple insiders (both on this site and outside of it) have said no generic lands. So that's out.

Yea, considering what we know about this park, I don't see a food festival being in the cards.

Sure, but then we can also say that LOTR is coming. Star Trek is coming. Godzilla is coming. Jurassic World is coming. Insiders are what keep us on track, and when multiple insiders are saying the same thing....

Multiple insiders said Nintendo would be under construction now in Kidzone. Yet here we are. Things change *all the time*

I’m willing to bet the following:universal uses Dreamworks to replace toon lagoon and Popeye and rip saw falls. and I could see the new illumination grinch retheme in ioa. Like it or not illumination is Universal’s pixar. A reskin of Jurassic world in jurrasic Park will probably happen. And no they won’t do a gyroscope ball thingy roller coaster. Lost continent will be the legend of Zelda. I could definitely see Zoras domain by all the water features over in Poseidon’s fury maybe even reskin pf to a dungeon in the legend of Zelda. But where would the great duku tree go.......? Hmmmmm . I think the new park /parks Will be all new stuff . I don’t think fantastic beasts should be built. Mario will anchor the new parks like Harry Potter. And Mario being the anchor is a great thing. Nintendo is bigger than Harry Potter. Probably a more recognizable franchise than lord of the rings. And avatar and probably just as popular as Star Wars. Nintendo is a timeless ip. Even my grandmother know enuindo. That’s how she said Nintendo.

To concur in this, that seemed to of been the case with Pets as-well for USH; in the sense of that it's happening..but more in that changes were going on that caused things to get to where we are now.

To what I see happening..

- Toon Lagoon & Lost Continent will stay as it is for a while, to be saved to get people over to the north once UOS opens
- Kidzone goes down by the end of year for new experience
- Jurassic Park, like it's Hollywood version; will get a large refresh to match the current climate of the series (JW-Oriented). Expect a new attraction at the Trikes, along with RA revamped (alongside the entire area reworked).
- Zelda is held off of being used; for future endeavors
- SNW will Flagship UOSouth at Launch, with 1 additional thing that no-one is guessing

True. But it's very late in the planning stages, so there shouldn't be any major changes when it comes to lands.
