Am I crazy- or did someone not post a picture of Bill Davis with his tongue out like a madman during opening ceremonies? I searched the whole thread and can't find it for whatever reason...

I believe he is mistyping- because its just 1 ride at a time. Meaning you cant be on coaster/honu + 1 anymore, just 1.

That would suck if true.

Also, there were guests with Express in the park while I was there as they'd be getting on the slides around the same time. The TapuTapu took a slightly bit longer to read it vs when you had Ride Now due to having reserved it.

That's the way I was reading it. Didn't even notice he forgot a word.

Can someone explain to me how guests even knew about the coaster + 1? Did the bracelet say something about one other ride being available to the wearer?

Aaaah... this video shows near the end that one does need to "tapu in" at ride time.

You know, a quick psychological fix for guests would be to display a return time rather than the totality of minutes. Rather than saying that Honu is 240 minutes, say "Next Return time available at 3:15 pm" or something. Give the whole system more of a dining reservation feel rather than a deli counter queue feel.

Apple Genius Bar already does this through text messaging. Baby steps.

I honestly think, this should be what they should go for. It makes more sense than what is currently in-place, and that it'd allow them to keep Tapu Tapu fully into the park's goals.

The reviewer said he stayed until mid afternoon both days and it never got crazy busy.
The other reviews on the IU review thread aren't the dire Twitter type reviews either. They tell somewhat similar stories. And I trust our Forum reviews way better than Twitter & You Tube stuff. Fallon & Kong are good examples of our reviews being more right on than these Twitter people that we don't know if they ever actually were in the parks. Some problems, of course, it's a new park, that had construction issues . And just about every major water park I've ever been to, if you don't get a lounge chair by 10 or 11, good luck. People come to water parks in mornings and then they start emptying out at 3 or 5 in the afternoon. Showing up at a brand new park in the afternoon, first week, holiday season, is just asking for issues. Heck, afternoon slide lines get pretty long everywhere. And, some reviewers said the listed VB ride times were inflated.

So you are trusting one person's review..that basically said he was "first in line" at rope drop, then the multiple negative reviews appearing all over the place? You once again missed my point. While he may have had a good/decent experience, a lot of people are not. It's situation was by no means "typical" which was my point.

How can you say the park is "not crazy busy" when multiple rides (not just 1) have 3-5 to 7!!! hour waits? That's completely unacceptable for a water park, opening weekend, or not.

Go read the "detailed" reviews over at Trip Advisor. There are plenty of well thought out reactions on there from people that were very disappointed, even though they realized it was opening weekend.

the problem with this, is that they can't ride anything else in between. Which is actually the main problem with this system.

Heard a worker tell someone who was returning their tapu tapu at 11am that "the idea is that by not waiting in line you have more time to chill out and relax, grab a drink at the bar" to which she snapped back "or more time to wait at guest relations" as she slammed her tapu tapu into the bin and stormed out. This is ugly as hell for Uni.

Oh, I'm not saying that it solves anything other than reducing the number of faint heart attacks people get when they see all of the slide wait times in triple digits. They still have a fundamentally flawed water park to work through - but maybe they can minimalize some of the initial shock... for now.

That makes no sense, but okay! Gotta love people who apparently are that furious about not being forced to wait on a staircase.

I can see why depending upon how long her wait was. If I was told I can't do anything but get a drink and relax for 300 minutes I would absolutely leave. The whole point of these parks is to do the slides. If you can't do that then what's the point of paying $70?

Damn, what a good clap back. I knew it would be a disaster and nearly everyone on here jumped on me.

If people want to spend their time waiting, let them wait. If it's not worth it to them, they can find something else to do. Universal tried to reinvent the mousetrap when all they should've done was design a better one.

The park's been open less than a week with zero soft openings. Let's give it a bit more time before labeling it a "disaster".

And for the record, most of the negative press is about the initial Tapu Tapu teething, not how the park looks, which almost all love and praise.
