Volcano Bay: General Discussion

What was the username of the poolguy that was posting in the VB construction thread about the pumps and general of how water works? He probably would have some input on this but I can't remember his username and am not sure how to find it. I tried a few searches with @xxxxxxxx and couldn't come up with it

Edit: Thanks to @scott_walker it is @PeteThePoolMan that is a pro in pool care.
How about it Pete? Know any reasons this is not solid blue through out or what would cause the white markings?

To me it looks like it’s a calcium or some sort of solids in the mist causing a build up on the surface of the slide. They probably just need to acid wash the slide and it will look good as new. I’m sure the slide is made of a blue material all the way through. It isn’t painted. And yes nothing to really talk about in this thread till they start building something.

Although I have been to the park on two occasions and had a great time. All the complaints I’ve seen I never experienced. If you know how to use the ride reservation system and go early it can spoil you compared to some of the water parks in the area.

Thanks for weighing in!

View attachment 6090 “Production” (Game show ie contestants lined up?) being filmed at VB this morning. Apparently two presenters on the right are household names??

Isn't that Bobby Flay and Giada? This looks like it could be a Next Food Network Star challenge.

That's who it looks like to me!

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, it literally could be anyone to be honest.

I know for a 100% fact that it was Flay and Giada for their show "Next Food Network Star". My girlfriend showed me Giada's Instagram story a few days ago that showed them getting into black SUVs at Cabana Bay. The story made it seem like they stayed at Cabana Bay (surprising since their celebrities) because she was showing their rooms with the HUGE food/snack layouts provided to them. The entire kitchen counter top and shelves were stocked completely full with food stuffs.

While the story isn't available anymore (more than 24 hours), Giada did post a picture from Hosgmeade:

They did two of these similar tests two weeks ago. I heard there was a good turnout the first day and just about no one second day. Sounds like they really want to get the weight limit changed back to 300 for the public before Spring Break crowds hit.
